Girls Aren't Sex Toys — Parents Should Stop Sending Girls to Hawk

Hello everyone, good morning, good afternoon, or good evening, depending on the time you are seeing this video or depending on the country you are watching from.

I'm Christabella from Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.

I'm here to talk about the current situation of the country and the trendy news that's circulating over social media (rape). Girl children need to be protected at all costs and by all means because they are no longer safe anywhere.

I don't understand if it is a new thing now.

Nigeria has been trending with heartbreaking news about rape and sexual abuse, especially involving young girls. Every time we open social media or watch the news, there is another painful story. It is not something we should joke about or overlook. It is a serious issue that demands urgent attention.

The girl child deserves protection, not fear. She deserves to grow up in a society where she can go to school safely, walk on the street without harassment, and live her life without fear. Rape is not caused by how a girl dresses, talks, or behaves (I know some people will be like, "Oh, girls of nowadays like dressing half naked; some are half naked"). For example, imagine newborn babies being raped, a child that knows nothing, a child that has not matured at all, or a very tender age. To tell you that is not about dressing at all. It is caused by the wickedness and lack of self-control of a man or the offender. We must stop blaming victims and start holding perpetrators accountable.

Most rural areas don't have an idea or knowledge of what is going on in the world today, so it is better for everyone to go to different places, especially the inferior communities, to create awareness of what is happening in the country today and let them know how to protect their children, especially girl children.

Parents or guardians need to teach their daughters and sons. Girls should be educated about their rights, body safety, and how to speak up when something feels wrong. At the same time, boys must be taught respect, consent, and the value of women from a young age. Protection is not only about stopping or restricting girls; it is about correcting mindsets.

Communities, schools, religious bodies, and the government all have a role to play. There should be strict enforcement of laws against sexual violence where the offender is sentenced to whatever year imprisonment. Cases shouldn't be ignored or swept under the carpet. Justice must be served to teach others a lesson. Silence only empowers abusers.

We must also create safe spaces where victims can speak without shame or fear. When a girl speaks up, she should be supported, not doubted. She should be protected, not stigmatized.

Protecting the girl child is not just a family responsibility; it is a national responsibility. The future of Nigeria depends on how safe we make our daughters today. Enough is enough. It is time to stand up, speak out, and protect the girl child. Thank you.

Yes is true but ladies also should learn to be contented with what they have to avoid falling victim of rape.
