The Diary Game: 17/05/2026: Having a heavy breakfast, going to church and playing ball
Hello everyone here in @steemcameroon, it's @ebonyjnr wishes y'all a blessed new week .
Sundays are always a special blend of spiritual refreshing, relaxation, and doing the things that make me feel alive. Today was exactly that kind of day—filled with community, sharp style, a great game on the pitch, and, of course, amazing Nigerian food to fuel it all. Here is how my day went down.
They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and today I took that very seriously. Instead of going for something light, I decided to fuel up properly for the long day ahead.
The morning menu
- main: A generous serving of yellow garri (eba)
- Soup: Rich, well-seasoned Egusi soup
- Side: A plate of Amala with a spoon ready to dive in
It was a heavy, satisfying breakfast that made sure hunger wouldn't be an issue while I was out. With my energy locked in, it was time to get ready for service.
Going to church is always a great way to center myself for the week ahead. The message today was uplifting, and the fellowship with friends and family was just what I needed.
After the service, I had to capture the Sunday look before heading home. I opted for a casual yet sharp look today—a black and gold patterned button-down shirt paired with well-fitted black trousers and comfortable leather sandals. Perfect for the warm weather while still keeping it stylish.
After resting a bit at home, it was time for my favorite part of the weekend: football. You can't have a complete Sunday without a proper match on the pitch. We gathered with the guys for some intense, fast-paced street football. The energy was high, the banter was top-tier, and by the time the final whistle blew, I had run off all the energy from that heavy breakfast. There is nothing quite like the community and culture of weekend football to clear your head and keep you fit.
I got back home exhausted but completely fulfilled. After a quick shower, it was time for a light dinner (jollof rice and Bama mayonnaise my bro made after church) to wrap up a brilliant day before heading to bed to prepare for the upcoming week.
It was a beautiful Sunday through and through. How do you spend your Sundays in your city? Let me know in the comments below! Thank you for reading my diary entry! I'd really appreciate your kindness. Shoe me some love, remember it's Sunday!
