The Adversity Of Leanness In Service (22/04/2026)

Today we are focusing on the dangers of incomplete service. We need to give complete furnishing to God's service. Anything less is harmful. This topic will be treated under the following sub-headings;

The first is leanness in service:This phrase shows that one's service can be considered as a lean service as a result of his or her poor attitude to work, today we work, tomorrow we don't. Leanness in service manifests as a result of poor level of one's commitment, also note that giving God a haphazard service will result into leanness in service.

In the passage Matthew 25:11-45, there is one master and a set of servants who received talents to work, a servant returned a pound. This is gross unproductivity, 1st Chronicles chapter 20, during the time kings go to war, David tarried at the palace and fell into sin.

The second subheading is reason's for leanness in service: There are a lot of theories why people grow lean in God's service, some say one should not be busy like that for God, some feel God should understand, fear grips people and make them not to work, wickedness in our heart makes us insensitive to the sinners state, slothfulness, Inconsideration, being at ease, pleasure seeking life , lack of seriousness in things with eternal value has no score in God's report card , abounding in iniquity.

The liable harm or danger is that we stand to lose more virtue,hell which is a place of weeping and gnashing of teeth awaits such people, the reference is in Luke chapter 19.
