First time braiding a locked hair with attachment extension: [02/01/2026]

Good morning steemians and happy new year to you all, how's your Monday going so I want to share the experience I had while braiding a dread locked hair normally I braid different hair types but it was my first time braiding this particular type and am so excited to share it here let's head to the main part

A day after the day before yesterday which was on the second of January I initially wanted nothing both to be indoors, cuddled in my bed and doing nothing throughout the day. Like I just needed the day for myself, but the universe had other plans for me. I first got up to brush my teeth then returned back to bed and continued scrolling through my phone, at some point I became hungry and I didn't prepare anything down so I stood to go outside and buy pepper with onion to prepare a breakfast of beans since time had already gone and I can eat heavy. I didn't take up to three steps when I met one of my neighbors she said she was looking for me and wanted to braid her hair, I wanted to escape but she drew me back and said she'll be making it that day she just needs to go eat and come back, I didn't have any other options but to give in since I needed money as well.

After the agreement I continued my journey to buy what I needed to prepare my food, came back and prepared it down. When I had already finished and waiting for it to be done so I can eat that's when she came so I just went to prep the extension down so the work will be much easier and me. By the time I was done with the prepping the food was already ready so I excused myself to go and eat because I was really famished. She didn't even complained and ask me to take my time.

I didn't take much time to finish eating then got to work at fist the hair looked difficult but I just implemented a way to braid the hair and make it look neat, since it not as smooth as a normal hair it had some bombs and hurdles but I overcome the obstacles on the hair. As I kept braiding the hair was looking more nice and honestly I was feeling so proud of myself, I was happy I could make it come out nice. The hair lasted for about four to five hours before I could finish it.

By the time I had finished the hair it came out very nice and I had another client already waiting for me so immediately I finished, rounded up with the first person and got on to the next. In my mind I was like ohh there goes my sleep, but since I'll be getting paid for my services I didn't mind so I started the second hair. It was a half fell up style so I had to take my time since this one too was my first trial and with the help of the video tutorial I perfected it. At around eight I was done with everything concerning hair making and all tired and stressed out, I went back in took my bath warm up the food and decided to prepare pap to take it with the beans I prepared in the morning since I didn't have any strength in me to make any other food.
