The Diary Game || ATTENDING A PAINFUL BURIAL OF OUR COLLEAGUE AND CHURCH EVENT || 13/03/2026

in Steem Cameroon14 days ago

It was another weekend of mixed feelings: trying to find happiness in church after a painful burial and other events made my day's storyline.

I greet you all while trusting that all is well. I pray for victory over every battle of your life and ask God for grace for you to triumph in all situations in Jesus Christ's name, AMEN21X.

MORNING/AFTERNOON

The morning was a busy one for me. Not only preparing my boy for school, making an arrangement for him to be picked after school, knowing that I will be in Ini Local Government Area for a burial as at the time their school will dismiss. I called keke man, but his number was not connecting. I had to call on one of our church members who happened to be ery close to our family, and she accepted to squeeze out her time to pick the boy to where the mother is doing babysitting.

Around 7:30am, the school bus came over and picked him while I navigated my direction to The Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, 52 Enwe Street for the taking off to Ini (Odoro Ikpe Community) by 8am. We spent about 30 minutes for us to join us, and we finally left Uyo for the burial.

Some Photos at the Funeral Service

By 9:57am, we arrived at the funeral service held at the PCN Primary School Odoro Ikpe. It was a burial that had a college of bishops, clerics, and principal officers of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria.

Such a funeral full of tears for the family, friends, and colleagues. The priest who was buried did not fall sick for even up to a day, just a few hours after being seen by those close to him. I personally saw him two days before his demise. This was where it became painful, leaving his family, especially his son, who just gained admission into the University of Uyo. Hope is not lost for the family, but their father's sudden death has created a vacuum that will be hard to fill.

The funeral service lasted for 2 hours. We returned to Uyo about 1pm, driving slowly while still contemplating the death of our colleagues. Even after the burial, many were still left in shock. Before 3pm we landed in Uyo and I reached my house at 3 10 pm.

The movement was already exhausting my strength with my family family's absence, making the house calm, I fell into my bed and slept off until evening.

EVENING

Deep sleep took care of me. My phone was switched off, and I couldn't even charge it up. Waking up was going to church. The day of the Uyo Presbytery Gospel Convention was spiritually sharpened. Choirs sang, prayers were offered, and the guest preacher who exhorted the whole congregation to remain humble if we must enjoy the grace of God. The message left many in the pews to rethink their way of life and pray fervently for the mercy of God.

Dad 2 of Church Convention

The dismissed from the program about 9pm. The sky was humid and ready to rain, but God helped us to conclude the event. Heavy rain fell after I reached my house. I was a welcome rain, highly anticipated due to the rise in temperature, causing heat and the house too hot to sleep in. The approach of the rain brought joy, atleast one can sleep and not worry about heat.

The day was full of engagements, and I conquered. I am still praying for the family who lost their beloved father for God to see them through.

THANK YOU ALL!
