The Diary Game: Making Pap From Scratch, Busy Day At Home. [20/09/2026]
Have you ever planned your day a night before only to wake up to a different line-up of activities? Welcome to a brand new day in my diary. I slept like a baby last night not knowing the kind of chores I'll be waking up to. The first things I did after waking up were brushing my teeth and praying. Then, I gathered all trash in a big refuse bag and headed to the dumpster to trash it. I did that very early in the morning before the roads got busy. Then when I got back home, I prepared to fetch water.

After filling our drum with water, I thought I was done with the stressful job not until my mom told me to head out to the local mill nearby and grind mixed grains for pap. Ladies and gents, I became weak. I forgot about the grains that had been soaking for 2 days and at that point, I felt so lazy but I did it anyway.

When I got back home from grinding, I helped my mom to blend beans for our breakfast of akara and pap. We finished cooking and ate before proceeding with the rest of the chores. We first filtered the grinded grains and covered it aside for it to settle as the process required. Then I washed all the dirty dishes while my mom helped me to clean and arrange the kitchen. When we finished, I washed the entire kitchen floor because of the mess from filtering the pap then I mopped it dry.

By this time, it was almost time for lunch so my mom made semo to go with the egusi soup we had. I left her to it and then went ahead to take my bath and rest a little before we eat. At the time I got up she had already finished up and showered as well so we ate together. I was so grateful because the work that seemed too big earlier turned out to be easy with her help.
Eating my own portion of semo and egusi
My friends after eating , I slept till evening before I woke up and I felt so relaxed. And that is how my day went. Thank you for reading and I'll see y'all in my next post.
