Today started in a very unusual way — food woke me up. My friend came to wake me up so we could eat breakfast, and honestly, who am I to ignore food? 😂
We had leftover tuwo shinkafa and okra soup from yesterday. We mixed everything together the old local way and warmed it up. It was hot and satisfying, and that was the first thing I ate immediately after waking up. I didn’t even brush my teeth first. Don’t judge me. 😂

After eating, I went straight to take my bath. These days, taking my bath early has somehow become my new habit, and I must admit, it makes me feel really good.

Next, I had to quickly step out to get a sanitary pad because it was that time of the month. Since I woke up quite late, I was rushing around trying to get everything done on time. Thankfully, after getting what I needed, I got ready and headed to church.

Church service was beautiful. One thing that made today special was my outfit. I wore one of the dresses I’ve never worn before. I decided to switch things up a little and try an “old-school” style. I paired a long skirt with a short jean jacket, and honestly, I loved how it looked. I took a couple of pictures after service, and you’ll definitely see them. When I got home, I was already tired. I spent some time editing the pictures and transition videos I took, then posted them on Facebook, TikTok, and WhatsApp.

Not long after, the rain started falling. I was already feeling a little under the weather, so I took advantage of the cool weather and slept. I slept all the way until evening. Later, I accompanied my friend to the place where she attends her computer training. We stayed there until night before finally heading back home.

When we got back, I had a light snack — just biscuits and water. Later on, I ate jollof rice and banana. A friend had gifted me the banana earlier, so that made the meal even better.

The biggest surprise of the day came at night. Normally, whenever it rains heavily, electricity disappears as if it was never there. But today was different. Despite all the rain, we still had power. Immediately, I plugged in all my gadgets and took full advantage of the opportunity. I settled down with a movie and watched all through the night. Whenever there’s light at night, I become a different person entirely. 😂 I charged everything I could find and stayed up watching movies until midnight, only planning to sleep whenever tiredness finally decided to win.
