Celebrating Christmas with A Philanthropist (Lady Blessing Ubom)

It was a yesterday afternoon 25th December, 2025 where I joined other well wishers in Ibiaku ward 1, a community nestled in the heart of Mkpat Enin local government area. The air was filled with the sweet scent of freshly cooked meals, and the sound of laughter and chatter echoed through the streets. But amidst all the festive cheer, one person stood out, Lady Blessing Ubom, popularly known as Edidiong Etukapkan.

A renowned philanthropist from Ikot Ebak village, Lady Blessing had made it a point to celebrate Christmas with the widows, traditional rulers, and youths of her ward every year. And yesterday was no exception. With a warm smile and a generous heart, she decided to share the joy of the season with her constituents.

As the villagers gathered at the community center, Lady Blessing began to distribute bags of rice, accompanied by ingredients and colourful wrappers. The recipients' faces lit up with delight as they received their gifts, and the atmosphere was filled with gratitude and appreciation.

In her remarks, Lady Blessing expressed her commitment to continuing this good gesture every year. She promised to extend her philanthropic efforts beyond Ibiaku ward 1, to the entire Mkpat Enin Local Government Area and beyond. Her words were met with applause and cheers, as the community celebrated not only the spirit of Christmas but also the kindness and generosity of their beloved Lady Blessing.

As the day drew to a close, the villagers returned to their homes, their hearts full of joy and their bellies full of delicious food. They knew that they were not alone, that they had a guardian angel in Lady Blessing, who cared for them and wanted to make their lives better.
