Packing to my new apartment [5/01/2026]

I still remember the excitement I felt on Monday, January 5, 2026, as I packed my belongings and moved into my new rented apartment at No. 6 Effiong Udo Ndok Street, Uyo, Nigeria. The decision to leave my old apartment at Ikot Efiok lane wasn't easy, but the constant water issues and low voltage electricity made it unbearable. The landlord's refusal to address these problems only added to my frustration.

As I began to pack, I realized I had a lot of work to do. I started by sorting my belongings into categories, deciding what to keep, donate, or discard. I packed non-essential items like books and seasonal clothes first, and then moved on to more essential items like kitchen utensils and toiletries .

On the day of the move, I made sure to pack an "open first" box with essentials like bedding, toiletries, and chargers, so I could easily access them when I arrived at my new apartment. I also prepared a "first-night bag' with a change of clothes, toiletries, and other necessities, so I wouldn't have to unpack everything immediately.

As I settled into my new apartment, I checked my television, home theater system, chairs, table and other electrical appliances, indeed there was no single damage due to the course of packing. I felt a sense of relief and comfort.

The new place is everything I had hoped for - no more water issues or low voltage electricity. I am excited to start this new chapter of my life in a place that feels like home.

Thank you for going through my post, do have a great time ahead.
