The Bugs Bunny Rabbit "Eh...what's up, doc?"

"Eh...what's up, doc?"
I have always felt this cartoon character was cool, overconfident and mischievous, a skinny grey rabbit known as Bugs Bunny, who had the catchphrase “Eh...what’s up, doc?” and he would often say it after successfuly pulling off one of his mischief. He would also show up munching on a carrot while speaking faster than normal.
Over the years, I have noticed that local folktales usually make a monkey or a tortoise the smart characters, but The Bugs Bunny Show glorified this rabbit, always putting it one step ahead of his pursuers.
In my opinion, this rabbit had a lot of pride, judging by the cocky way he walked, talked and made a fool of his pursuers.
That pride came with a sly visual gag: he never actually said he loved carrots. He just kept showing up chomping one and the implication stuck. We still have a whole generation who believe that rabbits love carrots and will eat it 24/7. This is why the VETnow website is asking rabbit owners to stop feeding their rabbits carrots.
Today, I will be drawing the bunny rabbit
| What is needed for today's drawing |
|---|
To draw the bunny rabbit character, I will need the materials listed below for sketching, and colouring.
| Item | Qty | Description |
|---|---|---|
| A Guide | 1 | To look and draw |
| Galaxy A15 | 1 | Capturing the steps |
| An Eraser | 1 | Cleaning errors |
| Plain Paper | 1 | used as my canvas |
| HB Pencil | 1 | For Shading |
| 0.5 mm Pencil | 1 | For sketching |
| Some Colour Pencils | * | For colouring |
| Drawing Procedure |
|---|
Step 1 [Preparing the Canvas]
I got my A4 paper ready with my username. The orientation of the drawing is landscape and the date is Sunday May 10.
Step 2 [sketching and structure]
To guide me through the process, I started the drawing with a sketch which also helped with selecting a scale that would fit on an A4 paper with a landscape orientation.

The character now has some flesh attached to the skeletal sketch I started with.
I added more details to Bunny's foot, used a deeper pencil to trace its legs and upper body.
Now the sketch is ready for shading and colouring
Step 3 [Shading and colouring]
Starting with Bunny's carrot, I needed two shades of green for the carrot's greens, and an orange colour for the carrot's body.
Now came ash in different shades on the legs, arms and ears.
At this point, I added some colour in the mouth, nose and ears
Step 4 [Finishing]
It's time to take a selfie
Conclusion and Invitation
With Cartoon character art I believe we can tell stories, develop better eye-hand coordination and travel back to the past. I am inviting @rubee2as1, @eliany, @simonnwigwe and @josepha
