Dodo With Fluffy Fried Eggs


Today's Breakfast is a real quick, simple fluffy fried egg accompanying some fried plantain, locally known as "dodo". This combo can be further enriched by adding hot chocolate tea or enjoyed in its basic form. This fried egg dodo is a meal that is loaded with carbohydrates and protein, packed with great taste, aroma, and a lingering flavour.

Fried Eggs Dodo Recipe

Ingredients

1 Ripe plantain 6 ₦2000 [29.67 Steem]
2 Vegetable oil1/2 litter ₦800 [11.87 Steem]

6 Seasoning 1 cube ₦10 [0.15 Steem]

Preparation Process

Preparing the Dodo:
During selection, make sure the plantain is ripe and still strong. This allows the dodo to maintain its form during and after frying.
Start the preparation with a simple yet thorough hand wash. Followed by the washing and peeling.

The plantain is now sliced into the dodo shape, and it is time to get the frying pan fired up.

While waiting for the oil to get ready, use the time to salt the slices

Be careful when putting the slices into the hot oil. Avoid oil splashes

Let the plantain sizzle as it cooks for 10 minutes on medium to low heat before flipping them over

Once they are golden brown, this batch is ready and I believe this is the perfect time to salt the fried slices.

Preparing the Egg:

Crack four eggs into a clean bowl and start whisking them gently. Gradually crank up the whisking speed. You may add some salt to taste, some chopped onions and paprika. I love adding some garlic, black pepper and seasoning..

Gently whisking everything together till it's thoroughly mixed. Get the frying pan ready and let the egg glide in and sizzle in hot oil for 5 minutes before flipping it over.

Serving

We stert enjoying the meal when we savoured its aroma and next is with our eyes. So presentation matters a lot. Our eyes does the eating, prompting salivation long before the food gets to our mouth.

The result is a very yummy fluffy egg with some sweet plantain, an inviting flavour and taste that truly matches its looks.
