The Diary Game: 8th July 2026. Friend came visiting

Hi, boo-boo. Good evening.🥰

So, today I woke up feeling a little lazy at first, but I already had some things I planned to do, so I couldn’t afford to stay in bed for too long. Immediately I woke up, I said my prayers, brushed my teeth, and got my day started.

After that, I stepped into the kitchen to prepare breakfast. Once I was done cooking, I sat down and had my breakfast.

Before today, my friend had called me to let me know that she would be visiting me because she was off work. I was honestly so excited because I had been alone in the house for quite some time, and I had really missed having someone around to keep me company. Knowing she was coming made me very happy.

Since she has always treated me so well whenever I visit her place, I wanted to welcome her in a special way. After breakfast, I tidied up the house, swept and mopped everywhere, and made sure everything was clean and neat. When I was satisfied with the house, I headed straight to the market to buy meat and a few other ingredients I needed to prepare something delicious for her.

Around noon, she called to ask if she could start coming over. I told her to hold on a little because I was still at the market, and I promised to call her as soon as I got back home.

I ended up spending quite a lot of time at the market because the people who usually sell goat meat hadn’t arrived yet. They normally come between 12 noon and 1 p.m., so while waiting for them, I walked around buying other ingredients like green pepper, Scotch bonnet peppers, and a few other things I needed for the meal.

After roaming around for a while, I went back to check on the meat sellers, and luckily they had arrived. I bought ₦12,000 worth of goat meat because I wanted to prepare a small but very delicious and spicy assorted rice for her.

I finally got home a little after 2 p.m. I was already running behind schedule, so I rushed inside because I still had a lot to do before she arrived.

Immediately I got home, I entered the kitchen and started washing the meat. Halfway through, I suddenly thought to myself, “Let me quickly have my bath first before I start cooking so I’ll look neat before my friend arrives.” So after washing the meat, I left it in the kitchen, went to my room, and had my bath.

When I finished bathing, I dressed up nicely and went back into the kitchen to begin cooking. While I was preparing the food, I called my friend and told her she could start coming over.

Since it was her first time visiting my house, I kept giving her directions over the phone so she would be able to locate the place easily. I stayed in touch with her throughout her journey until she finally got close.

On her way, she called me and asked if I would like some garden eggs and groundnuts. I happily told her yes, so she bought them for me before coming.

When she finally arrived, the first thing she said was, “Wow! Your house is so beautiful.” That made me smile, and I thanked her for admiring our little home.

Immediately she settled in, she walked straight into the kitchen to join me. I kept telling her to relax because I wanted to give her a proper baby-girl treatment. After all, I was preparing the meal especially for her. But she refused. She said we were already friends and there was no need for me to stress myself alone.

Before helping me cook, she found some bread I had in the kitchen. She served herself with some stew I had left over and ate the bread first. After that, she joined me in the kitchen, helping me prepare the food so everything would be ready much faster.

While we cooked, we talked and laughed so much. We gisted about so many different things, and the whole atmosphere in the house became lively. I was honestly so happy because she made the house feel warm again. It felt really nice having someone around to keep me company.

When the food was finally ready, I offered to serve her some. She refused and said she was already full because of the bread she had eaten earlier. I persuaded her a few times, but she still declined. So I told her it was fine and that whenever she felt hungry, I would gladly serve her.

As we continued talking, I gave her an apple to eat.

Earlier, she had also told me that she wanted some of my clothes that were no longer my size because she is slimmer than I am. So I happily picked out a few clothes for her. Among them was an up-and-down outfit that she absolutely loved. She was so excited and kept saying how much she liked it, and seeing her happy made me happy too.

Before we knew it, it was already getting late, and she said it was time for her to leave.

Since she hadn’t eaten the rice, I dished some into a bowl, covered it well, and gave it to her to take home. I also packed another bowl for her roommate.

She was so happy and thanked me before leaving.

Later that evening, she called me to let me know that she had arrived home safely. Her roommate even collected the phone to greet me personally and thank me for the food. She said the assorted rice was so delicious and that she really enjoyed it. Hearing that made me feel so happy because I prepared the meal with so much love.

After that, I finally served myself some of the assorted rice and enjoyed my dinner. When I finished eating, I went to take my evening

shower. After my shower, I had some fruits and snacks. I ate some apples, cucumber, and nuts.

Finally, I climbed into bed, picked up my phone, scrolled through it for a while, and before I knew it, I started dozing off.

And that was how I spent my day.

Overall, my day was filled with joy, laughter, and good company. Having my friend around made the house feel lively, and I truly enjoyed every moment we spent together. It was a beautiful day, and I’m grateful for it.❤️
