THE DIARY GAME: 20-12-2025, An Eventful Saturday
So I urge each and every one of y'all to sit tight and enjoy! 😃 So today being the 20th Day of December 2025 wasn't a bad day at all. Though hectic earlier on, but overall, I can say it was a wonderful day where I met practically all of my goals and targets. At first though this morning after waking, I had it in mind to go fix a slight software problem which was preventing my phone my boothing. Since 2pm yesterday when my phone shut down on its own due to low battery, it refused to booth properly after when power (electricity) was restored and I plugged it in to charge. As a matter of fact, the phone wouldn't even charge at all!! I did all within my power to get my phone to booth, all to no avail. So I just left the phone there waiting for today so I can take it to a repairer to help check what the issue was. Eventually, today came and I left the house at about 8:45am to Ikot Ishi market where the only repairer I know I can trust in calabar has his shop.
I actually trekked from my house to the main road before boarding a mini bus to Ishi market. On getting to the my repair guy's shop (I call him Engineer) though how real name is Isaac, I showed him the phone, explaining to him what I had gone through since yesterday. He told me it was due to the volume buttons and power buttons conflicting each other hence the "no command" error message I kept receiving when I try to booth the phone.
I asked him to change the volume button and replace it with a new one, but he said he could work the already existing volume button. Skeptical at first, but yet considering the fact that It'd be cheaper working the old one rather than buying a new volume button altogether, I let the repair guy do as he had suggested. After about 20mins later, man was done uncoupling, fixing the volume issue and coupling the phone back. So he called out to me when he was done, handed over the phone, I said thanks to him, paid him for his service and then left for home. I took the shorter route to the Highway and in no time I was at the Calabar/Calabar axis of the Murtala Mohamed Highway Calabar. I flagged a taxi and boarded. Surprisingly, the taxi man was an old acquaintance all the way from when we were living at Big Qua street, Calabar. At first I didn't recognize the driver until he further introduced himself, even mentioning his kid sister who was classmates with me back in secondary school (what you guys in the West call High school). It felt really nice meeting an old pal once again, and we talked all through the ride. It was really fun!! In no time, I was at my bus stop at Ekoson and so I alighted, paid the guy and started trekking home. While trekking home, I bought a snack called 'kuli kuli' along the way. It is a snack made from grounded groundnuts, mixed and molded by hand. It is actually one of my favorite snacks of all time!! So while trekking home, I kept munching on my kuli kuli snack. In no time, I was home. Tired as I was, I went straight into my room, fell on the foam mat on the floor and before you know it, I was snoring!! I had dosed off ! 🥹After about two hours, I woke up and made food for myself and ate. I had melon soup mixed with ogbono and garri swallow. I don't even know whether to call the meal breakfast, lunch or whatever though cuz it was almost 3pm when I ate the meal. After eating, I stayed up a bit before going back to my room to continue resting. At this point, it was almost 4pm and my mom had begun to call out to me and my little cousin Favor to start preparing what we would eat for dinner. We were supposed to make rice and stew for dinner. So once I was up, I went straight and started the cooking. I washed the soft fresh tomatoes and then put it in a small pot to boil. After about 5-7mins, the water in the small pot was dried up and tomato was ready!! I brought the pot down, transferred the tomatoes from the pot into a mortar and then started grinding it in a circular pattern to crush it into a paste. After sometime, behold my tomato paste was ready!!
While grinding the tomatoes, I put the pot of meat (beef) that was already seasoned over two hours ago and left to marinate ontop the metal tripod stand which we use for cooking. After a while, as I grinded the fresh tomatoes, I was also checking on the pot of boiling meat. After some minutes, the tomatoes was ready to be used and so I went ahead to cook the meat a bit more to make sure it was done. After the meat was done, I went ahead to make the stew. It was really eventful I must say. After making the stew, I carried the stew pot inside and my cousin proceeded with cooking the rice. While rice was on fire, I took the chance to bathe while waiting for rice to get done so I can eat dinner. After about 45minutes, food was ready and so my mom asked for plates for everyone so she can dish out food for everyone at once. I actually ate mine and trust me, the meal was beyond yummy!! After eating, I asked my mom who's a retired nurse for a dose of some antibiotics since I have been treating malaria these past few days. After taking the anti malaria medication, I sat on a chair at the parlor so the food can digest properly before I can go to sleep. While waiting in the parlor, I felt the urge to stroll around a bit and so I got my sweat shirt on and stepped out. I took a little stroll, met some co neighborhood guys along the road and we exchanged pleasantries and then I decided it was enough and came back home. On getting home, I just fell on the foam mat like I did earlier and was just it! Right now am lying down on my foam mat, surfing the Internet and hoping that sleep comes soon! Until next time guys, see you all on another episode!!
Bye, I love you all!! 😘🥰😍🤩🥹
