So today, Wednesday, the 10th day in the month of December started off at such a slow pace. Actually, I chose to have it that way. I was supposed to be on site before 8am today according to what the boss told us all at the close of work yesterday. I thought I could meet up with the timing, but unfortunately, it was difficult to wake up early. I actually woke up early though but found it hard to get off my bed. I was still feeling tired from the stress of yesterday's work.

I had a hangover!! So at 7am, eyes were open, but mind stil asleep. I grabbed my cell phone and began to scroll through a few sites just to keep busy. Was replying to messages on my socials while also reading news on different blogs. After about 40-45 minutes, I realized it was almost 8 o'clock!! At this point, I had no choice but to get off my bed! So I hopped off my bed, grabbed my toothbrush and went outside to brush my mouth, warmed the old stew I had left since I had no rice or anything else to go with it and couldn't even do the dishes due to an injury on my right palm caused by cement burns. So, I hurriedly got dressed and left the house.

Not to site though but rather to a restaurant down the street, close to the university of Uyo gate. I wanted to atleast eat something before going to work. I couldn't afford to get to site on an empty stomach. On getting to the restaurant, I went in, placed my order (I wanted afang soup and garri swallow commonly called eba by Nigerians) but the vendor said she had no afang soup and so I had to settle for what she had which was a mixture of melon soup and atama. Atama is a leave common to the people of Akwa Ibom and Cross River States used for cooking soup. After my order had arrived, I hurriedly ate my food, paid via transfer and left. Since the restaurant is close to the main road, It didn't take me long to find a taxi. I flagged down one and hopped in. In less than 10 minutes I was at the bus stop where I usually alight. I paid the cab man and started running to site. On getting to the company's gate, I did the routine early morning name check screening before I was allowed into the premises. On getting to site, I saw two of our guys already transferring tiles to the location we were supposed to tile. I took off my clothes and changed into my work clothes and joined them immediately. We became a three-man team! So, while I and another guy (Emmanuel) would bring the tiles from where it was offloaded and stored, Jeremy alias Akpamkpam will collect the tiles and take them to where tiling was to be done.

This process continued for almost an hour until our boss showed up. On the boss's arrival, Jeremy left us to go put things in place for tiling to commence proper. He brought out the water tank, brought out tiling gums, and cements, tile cutting machine and other tools we needed, while I and Emmanuel continued bringing more tiles. After sometime, the boss began mapping out the area to be tiled and so Emmanuel left and joined in the mapping out so I was now the only one left transferring the tiles. When I got exhausted, I decided to take a little rest...after some time, mapping out was over with cement mixed with just water to ensure the mixture was well concentrated and then spread on the area where tiling was to be done and then they began to lay the tiles. One tile after the other until we had a very large expanse of tiled area!! It was such a beauty to behold!! So tiling continued until it was 1 o'clock (pm) and the boss asked us to go for a break. We all went for break as commanded. During the break, I went into a quiet spot to rest... during this rest period, I dosed off a bit..by the time I woke up, it was almost 2pm already and so I hurriedly rushed back to site to continue with the tiling. On getting back to work site, the boss informed us all that he had an important event to attend by 4pm. The event is the Shiloh program. The Shiloh program is conducted annually by the Living Faith Church aka Winners Chapel. It usually takes place during the second week of December every year since 2015. So, once it was 3:30pm, the boss asked us to round up work and close. So we all began to round up as did he. I had to wash the tools we used in working such as the shovels and hand trowels, etc. Afterwards, I left for the stream to take my bath. At the stream, I took my time since I was in no rush to get home. After a while, I proceeded with taking my bath, got dressed and followed the short cut route home. On getting to the tarred main road, I boarded a transit home. Before getting home, I stopped by the market and bought two cups of rice which I cooked so I could use it along with the little old stew I had left. So I boiled the rice, put it down after parboiling to wash and then continued cooking until it was done. After that, I warmed the stew and ate with the rice. After dinner, I decided to write about how my day went! I currently do have low battery though. It is barely up to 15% worth of battery life left. Hopefully, electricity comes tonight and I get to charge so that my phone doesn't shut down completely. So guys, that's it for today on today's episode of how my day went on The Diary Games. See you all again next time on another edition!! Thanks guys, I love you all!! 🥰😊🙏🏽
