THE DIARY GAMES (17-11-2025) A day of uncertainty that ended with a glimmer of hope
Hello guys, greetings to you all once again. It's been a while though and I sincerely apologize for my absence. This was strictly due to a few things beyond my control.
But once again, I humbly welcome each and everyone of you to today's episode of THE DIARY GAMES on my blog. Stay tight everyone and enjoy the read.
So today being Monday, the 17th day of November started off quite slowly for me. I actually woke up with so much on my head and mind. The uncertainty of life amongst other things. The most anxious part of my life lately and of today in particular was as regards to my job. The construction firm I work for as a labour worker, lately things haven't been too good on that front. Firstly, the MD of the company has been acting funny and strange towards our team (I told you all earlier that we are a team of five labour workers).
The MD actually has been making threatening statements like "I'm going to drop your team" and to back up his words, he has been treating our own team like we don't matter at all. Just last week, he (the MD) didn't let our team work on Monday, Tuesday as well as on Wednesday. Reason for this, I can't tell. All these actions and inactions of his has really been bothering my mind. So today being Monday, and another uncertain day as regards to my working status since things don't look too good at the company, I stil got up, said my prayers as usual, commiting everything into God's hands, brushed my teeth, (didn't even bother cleaning the room since I haven't been in a good frame of mind lately), didn't even bother to eat breakfast either, I picked up my work bag and left for work. On getting to site, I noticed that two of the permanent staff of the company were busy trying to clear an already excavated drainage part that was partially blocked by soil which collapsed due to the down pour of yesterday. I then moved closer to the workers and had a little talk with them. After a few words, the Head Labour guy asked I and another member of my team to get shovels and assist in clearing the blocked drainage. After securing the shovels, we went into the drainage and started clearing it... while clearing the blocked drainage, the Foreman called out to I and another person to help go bring 1 of the company's mixer to come to site. We actually went, drove the mixer to the drainage we were trying to clear so that blinding could be done, the MD drove in. He immediately ordered everyone out of the drainage, telling us that the mixer isn't in good shape, that they needed to call a mechanic and a wielder to come check a few things out.
Afterwards, we were ordered out of the drain with no pay. The MD said we should come early tomorrow. So reluctantly, I and my other team member went and took our baths, went to the faculty of agric market so we could charge our gadgets. After about an hour or so, we decided to go back home. While we were on our way home, we met one of the engineers sent from the ministry of works who usually comes for inspection at the Site. We flagged his car and he stopped, asked us to hop in and then drove us back to site. On getting to site, we (I and my team guy) got off the car, while the supervisory engineer approached the MD about us... after a while, the MD asked us to get back into the drain and continue cleaning up and levelling. This was about 1:30pm. we did our part hoping that the welder will be done welding the mixer so we could use the machines for Blinding. After levelling, the supervisors were not impressed with where the drain was dug, and so the supervision team told the MD that the location of the drainage was wrong, hence it should be relocated. This made our boss very sober all through today. So since blinding could not be done, we went back again to take our showers and get ready for tomorrow. So now, tomorrow, he we come!!
Hopefully I have a much better day tomorrow. So guys, that's it on how my day went. See y'all tomorrow on another edition. Bye.....😘
