Greetings once again good people, we're here again for today's edition of THE DIARY GAMES where I get to share with you all about how my day went. So today being Monday, December 8th, started off not quite so badly. I woke up even before 6am, but never left my room until 7am. I had plans of going to work early but due to my body's reaction, I had to sleep a bit more. I have over stressed my body as much as I did yesterday, despite it being a Sunday and so a repercussion was inevitable. So reluctantly, I managed to get off my bed, went outside, greeted the middle aged woman who happens to be my neighbor. She sells soy milk and Tiger nut drinks so she usually wakes up early, sometimes even before 5am to start preparing. So after greeting her, I went back inside the room, got my brush out, brushed my mouth, and next was to proceed to cooking immediately.

I had bought about three cups of rice last night on my way back from work which I intended to cook this morning so that the rice can serve as breakfast. So even before brushing,I had already placed a pot on fire even before proceeding to brush. While the pot was on fire, I brushed hurriedly, got back and poured the rice back into the pot of boiling water, proceeded with preparing the ingredients for the cooking which includes chopping the onions, pounding the pepper (using a mortar and pestle since I have no electric blender), pounded the crayfish, brought out about for four star Maggi seasoning cubes, container of salt and a bottle of red oil palm as well.

While doing all of these, rice was ready for washing. I put the pot down, put a kettle of water on fire while I washed the rice. Within ten minutes, washing was done and then I returned the rice back into the pot, poured the hot water I had boiled in the kettle while washing the rice and continued cooking. After sometime, rice began to boil and so I added salt to taste, the seasoning cubes, some onions (deliberately reserving some to garnish the rice when it's done) and then went in with crayfish and palm oil. I stirred everything properly to mix...in no time, food was done and so I went in with my precooked ice fish from yesterday which I had bought on my way back home from work and then went in with some veggies. Once the rice was dried and I put the pot down, I dished out a little portion Into a bowl, ate hurriedly 'cause at this point I was already late as it was past 8am already. Immediately after eating, I picked up my bag and left for work. On getting to where I usually alight from transit, I decided to follow the private entrance into the company's premises but unfortunately, on getting there, the security didn't let me in and this includes other people as well, except a few VIP staff...but as for regular workers and other people alike, we were forced to go use the main entrance gate. Usually, this wouldn't be a problem, just that, from the private entrance to the main gate is about 20 minutes trek!! I was devastated as well as frustrated!! But since I had no choice, I began to move. On getting to the main gate, I brought out my reflective jacket since it is one of the criteria before one is allowed entry into the company's premises and I walked in. Hurriedly I rushed to the site where I was working with some tilers. We've been screeding the surface for tilin since last last week Thursday. It's quite a hectic job I must say! I get so tired when I get home, so tired that most days I can't even post about my day on this blog but fortunately though, we close early today so it offered me enough time to post. What the screeding work entails is mixing cement with sand at an appropriate proportion. Note; the cement and sand mixture must be rich to achieve a solid foundation. We do this repeatedly and after mixing a considerable amount, we then transfer the mixed material (mortar) to the area to be screeded. The Boss who's a tiler then spreads the material and uses his range to level it to the given level. It's quite a hectic job! After some time working today, it began to rain. Surprisingly though 'cause we're in the dry season. So we all ran for cover from the rain. During this period of taking shelter, I dosed off 'cause I was so tired. After the rain stopped, we resumed working again and this was past 3 o'clock already. At this point though, we were almost done with our target for the day. Just had to mix two more cement bags and that was it ..took me about 20 minutes to achieve that and transferred the mixed material to where it was needed. Once I was done transferring, It was end of work for me. I took my work clothes off and I was only left with my playpant shorts as I went to the stream to take my bathe. On getting there, I took my time to clean up properly before getting dressed and leaving for home. On getting home, I warmed the rice I had cooked earlier this morning and ate a little portion before going out to look for where to power my phone since my battery was running low. I'm currently charging my phone as I type this though and intend to go straight home and to bed as well in readiness for tomorrow. So guys, see y'all again tomorrow on another edition of THE DIARY GAMES. Bye; love you all!! 🙂😘
