My Diary Game; A Sunday of Early Alarms, Long Walks, Good Food and Big Football - 25/01/2026

Hello SteemCameroon family 👋
I hope everyone had a peaceful and refreshing weekend. My own Sunday was one of those days that started very early, came with a bit of stress, but ended in a really satisfying way.

Yesterday, I woke up just a few minutes past 5am — very unusual for a Sunday. The reason was simple: I wanted to attend a different church from the one I normally go to here in school. If you read my previous Sunday diary (18/01/2026), you’ll remember how I complained about the constant delays and time wasting at the church I usually attend. I’ve endured it for a while because I actually enjoy the service there and the transportation is usually very comfortable. But yesterday, I had plans after church, so I really needed to be back in the hostel on time.

By 6:30am, I was already dressed and stepping out. This was when reality hit me. Unlike my regular church where students are fewer and the bus always has enough space, this one was different. Even though I left early, I still missed the church bus and had to walk all the way to the school gate to catch another one. And that walk… it’s not small at all. At that time of the morning, there were no tricycles (keke), so walking was the only option.

I and a friend finally caught the big coaster bus at the gate. It was already filled, but at least there was space to stand and something to hold on to. We got to church while the service had already started, but it was still beautiful. The worship, the message, the atmosphere — it was worth the effort. By 9:35am, service was over.

Getting back, though, was another story. My friend stopped to buy something, and by the time we reached the bus, the queue was long. Standing again. I held on tightly as the bus moved, waiting patiently until the girls were dropped off at their hostel before I finally got a seat. The remaining ride was short, but that small comfort meant a lot.

This whole experience really made me think. Sometimes, you leave something that gives you comfort in one area to gain something else. I left a church where transportation was easy but time wasting was high, for one that started earlier but came with stress and standing. It’s a reminder that in life, everything has advantages and disadvantages -you just choose which one you can live with.

Back in the hostel, I cleaned up the plates and pots I had left the previous day, then waited for my turn at the hot plate. I cooked spaghetti, ate well, fetched water, bathed, and finally laid down to rest.

Later, it was time for football. First was the school tournament final, which honestly didn’t go my way. The department that knocked us out went on to win the tournament - painful to watch, not going to lie.

Then came the main event:
Manchester United vs Arsenal

Arsenal fans were already confident, talking about how they would thrash us. But football had other plans. United showed heart, discipline, and belief. When Cunha scored that late winner, I nearly jumped off my bed. That moment alone made my whole Sunday. Seeing rival fans suddenly go quiet was just icing on the cake.

After such a long, stressful, but exciting day, I went to sleep feeling grateful — for the lessons, the food, and of course, that beautiful United win.

Soft question:
Would you rather deal with time wasting or transportation stress if you had to choose one?
