My diary Post - A Slow Start, A Sore Body & a Night That Ended with Football Drama 17/03/2026

Good day to you all, and I hope everything is going well on your side. I’m really glad to be here again sharing a little piece of my day with you. There’s something I’ve come to enjoy about these daily posts — just sitting down, reflecting, and putting everything into words, even the small moments that might not seem like much at first but actually make up the whole day.

I hope your day has been productive, or at least peaceful and manageable. And if it wasn’t, that’s okay too — some days are just for taking things slowly and getting through them one step at a time.

As for me, Today started somewhere in the middle — not too early, not too late… just one of those balanced mornings where you wake up and your body is like, “We’re awake… but at what cost?”

Because let me tell you, my body was in pain.

Yesterday’s gym session did not come to play at all. My arms, shoulders, upper body — everything felt like I was used as a live demonstration in a fitness class. Even simple movements required planning and courage.

At that point, I already knew one thing for sure:
No gym today. No arguments.

I’ve actually gotten used to this pattern — 1 day ON, 1 day OFF. I once watched an educational video that explained how muscles need time to rest and recover, and honestly, I’ve held onto that advice like it’s a personal commandment

So today was strictly a recovery day.

Since I was already moving like someone much older than my age, I decided to start with something simple — breakfast.

I made beans with sweet potatoes, and as usual, it came out really nice.

There’s something about sweet potatoes in beans that just hits differently. It’s filling, it’s affordable, and most importantly — it gives you energy without stress. Exactly what my body needed today.

After eating, reality called.

House chores.

And today’s own felt like punishment.

I had to mop the sitting room, and with the way my body was aching, every bend, every stretch, every movement felt like I was adding extra reps to yesterday’s workout

At some point I even paused and asked myself, “Is this really worth it?”

But we move.

One thing about chores — once you finish and everywhere is clean, there’s this small but satisfying feeling that makes it all worth it.

The rest of the day was mostly calm… just trying to exist peacefully in my sore body

But deep down, I was already waiting for the main event of the night.

Now let’s talk about the real highlight of today…

Champions League Night.

Omo, today’s matches came with serious drama and surprises.

We had:

  • Sporting CP Vs Bodo/Glimt
  • Arsenal vs Bayer Leverkusen
  • Manchester City vs Real Madrid
  • Chelsea vs PSG

As a Manchester United fan, let me be honest — life is not easy right now.
My club is not even in the Champions League this season, so I’ve been collecting banter from all directions, especially from fans of other English clubs.

So today?

Today was therapy, LOL

But here’s where things got serious —

I ended up eating dinner very late… and it wasn’t by mistake.

I had planned to eat earlier, but once the matches started, I told myself, “Let me just watch this one first…”

One match turned into another… tension was building… goals were flying… drama everywhere…

Before I knew it, I had completely abandoned my food plans.

There was no way I was going to leave those matches halfway. Champions League nights are not for half attention.

So I stayed glued to the screen until everything wrapped up — only then did I finally go and eat my garri and soup like someone who had just completed a mission

And honestly? It was worth it.

Seeing teams like Manchester City and Chelsea struggle and exit… I won’t lie, it was very satisfying

Sometimes you just sit back, relax, and enjoy a little bit of rival suffering.

After the matches, the night didn’t end there.

My brother and I went back to our usual battlefield — PES

After yesterday’s 9–0 humiliation, I was ready to continue his suffering, especially since his team (Manchester City) had already disappointed him in real life.

But today… he managed to recover small.

It was more balanced — I didn’t win too much, and he didn’t lose too much.

Let’s just say… he survived today

All in all, it was a very full day.

From waking up with gym pain, to cooking, doing chores, enjoying football drama, delaying dinner for Champions League, and ending the night with games — it had a bit of everything.

Now I’m already looking forward to tomorrow’s matches 👀

And I won’t even lie…

I’m hoping another English team gets knocked out.

Yes — I will be there live to hate watch.

So tell me
Which club do you support? And how are you coping this Champions League season?
