The diary post - I Almost Missed Church… Then Everything Started Happening - 19/04/2026
Hey guys, hope your Sunday went well
It’s @praizclassic1, and welcome to my diary game.
Today started with serious sleep battle
I first woke up around 6:45am just to iron the shirt I wanted to wear to church… because NEPA decided to disappear all through the night till past 2am.
After ironing, I told myself “just small rest”…
That “small rest” almost cost me church attendance
I asked my brother to wake me by 7:40am, and even when he did, I still delayed small before dragging myself to the bathroom.
Finally got ready, dressed up… and immediately I wore my shirt—
KNOCK! KNOCK!
That knock?
It was my mum.
And if you know, you know… that knock means:
“We are leaving NOW!”
Before I could button my shirt, spray perfume, carry wristwatch and earpods, she had already opened the gate and my dad was moving the car out.
At that point, it was a life-or-death rush
I and brothers after rushing into the car
We all ran out and entered the car like people escaping something.
That was a narrow escape fr
Got to church and the service was beautiful
From praise and worship straight down to the closing grace.
One part I always enjoy? The youth drama
Today’s drama was about sanctification.
It showed a relationship between a guy and a lady. The guy wanted intimacy, but the lady refused, choosing to wait and keep herself.
The guy got angry and left her.
She was heartbroken, questioning God… but then she saw a vision of what her life would have been if she had compromised.
In that vision, the same man became violent and abusive.
That moment changed everything. She regained strength and chose to stand firm in her faith.
Now the way I’m explaining it sounds deep and intense…
But trust me, they acted it in a light, funny and relatable way
Still, the message was clear:
Don’t compromise. Stand your ground.
It even aligned with the pastor’s message for the day.
After the service, we stayed back for more praise and worship in the third service since we came in late earlier.
And Omo… there was this one man dancing like he just won ₦1 billion.
the man who danced like he won billions of naira
The energy was unmatched.
After everything, we stepped out, took some pictures…
Then headed home.
But outside the church, another small issue—no POS to withdraw cash.
So instead of wasting time, we entered bike (okada).
Only problem?
We didn’t tell the rider we didn’t have enough cash on us.
When we got home, we dropped, my brother ran inside to get money, while I stayed back like human collateral.
I explained to the rider, and surprisingly, he was calm and said; “Okay.”
No stress, no argument. Just patience.
That one shocked me small.
By the time we entered the house… hunger had fully matured
I didn’t even change my clothes.
Straight to the fridge, grabbed malt and bread.
A solid combo and it hit immediately.
After that, I changed and went to prepare the main meal — Sunday rice with pepper soup.
Proper Sunday enjoyment
After eating and tidying up, I planned to sleep… but that plan failed.
Because two important things were waiting:
Football
My nephew’s birthday (where I was the DJ)
The match was Manchester City vs Arsenal
Big game. Title-deciding vibes.
So I subscribed my phone, prepared, and headed to the party.
While DJing, I was also streaming the match
Play music small → check match small.
Multitasking at its peak.
The match ended 2-1 in favour of Manchester City, closing the gap and making the title race even more intense.
At the party, even though it was a child's party, I enjoyed life small.
Cake
Wine
Jollof rice
Salad
Chicken
wine that was served only to uncles
It was a good evening fr.
After the party, I got home, changed… but no rest yet.
We remembered we needed to buy battery for our PES controller.
Went out again, only to find out price had increased from ₦1500 to ₦2000.
Nigeria will humble you.
We still bought it sha.
Got back home and met my sister watching Avatar
We paused our PES plans and joined her.
The hype around that movie is real… so I had to see it myself.
And while watching, here I am, sharing my day with you guys.
After this, it’s straight to PES and vibes
No more food for today… I don eat enough
Today was full —
rush, church, lessons, food, football, party, and family time.
But one thing stood out:
Even in the rush and stress, there’s always something to enjoy and something to learn.
Grateful for today
Thanks for reading guys
See you in my next diary entry.
