Off to Work

It's Thursday today, woke up early and got my kids prepared for school; yes they resumed this week and oh🙄....the hustle and bustle has begun again!. So I got the kids ready; myself too and we headed out. I dropped them off at school and headed to work.

I arrived at the office quite early and settled in to the day's schedule. I had quite a number of documents to work on for the day; they were to be ready by noon because a client was coming to pick them up. I decided to quickly jump on this.

At Work

I got the work done before noon and had time to surf the Internet. My phone battery was almost gone and there was power outage. I didn't even notice my battery was almost dead. I decided to make use of my powerbank.

Powerbanks are a life saver; given the current very terrible power situation in the country. A good number of persons currently do not go out without a powerbank myself inclusive. I have carefully carried out this research and found out from my personal observation that 8 in 10 Nigerians are with a powerbank when going out. People use powerbanks more now compared to 4-5 years ago. This goes to tell you that the light situation is so terrible; like we actually pay electricity bills but can't even get good electricity.

My client arrived in no time and picked her documents up. At this time, my phone was only charged 20% when my powerbank died. I actually have 2 powerbanks; so I went ahead to use the second one. At 38%, that also went flat. It finally dawned on me that I needed a new powerbank.

My Old Powerbanks

I have actually had those powerbanks for three years and they have served me well. Only recently, I found out their charging capacity has now reduced greatly. One of them is actually broken and I had to seal the broken part with a black tape and continued using it. Well today, it's T---I----M---E!....I'm getting a new powerbank

My damaged powerbank

As soon as I closed for the day, I decided to visit a Phone Accessories shop and purchase a new powerbank. I didn't have much time as I needed to pick my kids up from school. I dashed straight to the shop and took a quick tour around.

My new powerbank

There were different brands of powerbank available. I checked the rated output capacity for each of them and finally settled for a PHILLY 21,800mah powerbank. It comes with inbuilt cables and a handle for easy carriage. It's design was sleek and beautiful. I didn't add that this product was light-weight. I paid for it at the counter and headed out to my kids school.

Sleek right?

My kids were already waiting when I arrived. We then all went home. Thankfully, there was power when we got home and I was almost tempted to plug my new power bank to charge when I remembered the vendor had advised I exhaust the power on it first before charging it. He had explained that this would enable the powerbank work well and last long.

How do you charge your new powerbank? I'm sure a lot of us usually charge it fully before usage. Today, I'd learnt to use the first charging it came with and allow it drain completely and then let it charge from 0%. I hope you would be doing this because I am definitely 😁.
