The Diary Game [08/07/2026]:Back to Work, Still Recovering.
Hello Steem Fam. I hope everyone is doing great and making the most of their day. I'm happy to share another chapter of my daily life with you. Today, I was finally able to return to work after taking some time to recover from malaria and fever. Even though I wasn't at full strength, it felt good to step outside the house and slowly get back into my routine.
My day started around 7 a.m. I woke up feeling much better than I was over the past few days. The fever and body aches that had almost disappeared, although I still felt a little weak. As usual, the first thing I did was say my morning prayers, thanking God for the gift of another day and for the gradual improvement in my health.
Next, I brushed my teeth and , had breakfast of pancakes, and a cup of hot tea. Since I'm still taking medication, I ensure to eat before taking the drugs. I spent a few minutes scrolling through my phone, checking messages and reading a few interesting posts on Steemit before getting ready for work.
I honestly wasn't sure if I should go to the shop because I didn't want to push my body too hard. But I've been so bored these days, staying at home. After thinking about it for a while, I decided to go for a few hours and see how I felt bearing in mind that if I become tired, I would simply return home.
I boarded a bike to the shop and the journey was peaceful. The cool breeze brushed against my face and I enjoyed being out again after spending days indoors. It was nice seeing people going about their daily activities. It was funny because I didn’t realize how much I miss ordinary moments until the sickness happened.
When I arrived at the plaza, I saw the security man. He greeted me and asked about my health. We spoke briefly and I went to my shop. Everyone was surprised seeing me because I didn’t tell them I'd be coming in. They were happy to have me back and also worried I'm not fully healed. Their concern genuinely warmed my heart, it was so comforting to know that they care about my well-being.
Because I'm still recovering and kind of weak, I deliberately avoided doing anything too stressful. I supervised the work my worker did, and also checked out what the students had been up to. I also picked up a dress that my worker cut to sew. It was a battle because she didn't want me to sew. She kept telling me to rest. One funny moment happened when someone jokingly said, "Don't disappear on us again" We all laughed, and for a moment, I forgot I had even been sick.
By afternoon, I realized my energy level was dropping. Instead of trying to prove I was fully recovered, I listened to my body. I bought a plate of rice with grilled chicken and a chilled bottle of water. After eating, I felt slightly better, but I knew it was time to head home and continue resting. I bade my students and worker farewell and left the shop.
On my way home, I stopped at the fruit market to get watermelon and orange. I also got pears and corn. Once I got home, I changed into something comfortable and lay down for a while. I ended up taking a refreshing nap that lasted almost an hour. When I woke up, I felt much lighter.
In the evening, I ate semovita and okro soup. I also took my evening medication and drank plenty of water before settling down to relax. I spent some time watching videos, chatting with friends. As I'm preparing for bed, I'm happy my health has improved.I'm hopeful that tomorrow will bring even more strength and energy.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my diary. See you all in my next diary. Bye 👋 👋
