The Diary Game: Another Day To Play In An Event ||08-01-2026||

I am always on the road, 24/7 hustling for my daily bread. Today, I went to Itu because I had an event to play there. I went there very early with my crew members to go play in the event. It was actually a very long journey from Uyo but at at last we were able to arrive. Then I got to work by setting up our band stand and the sound system.

While we were setting up the sound, I overheard the ambulance coming, I didn't know these people would do this funeral this early, we were told 10am prompt but by 9am, the ambulance was already here with the coffin. I had to hurry up so that we begin to warm up the place with some great tunes.

With the shortest possible time we had on our side, we were able to put things inorder and then began to play some beautiful songs to warm up the place while the family were receiving their corpse. A painful death at that. I don't know, but anytime I play in a funeral that the deceased is not old, I do find it to be a sorrowful one.

After the family received their corpse, we played some songs that actually rhymed with what they were doing. The Reverends came because they are all catholics. And we had so many catholic hymns lined up for us to play for them.

After sermon, the corpse was prayed on and then the corpse was taken to his final place of rest. The children of the deceased cried so bitterly that I was even moved to tears as well. But I came for one job and that I must deliver. We played for the fathers and other priests to processed back to their seats after the corpse was dropped six feet below.

After that, we began to pack out things, time was really against us because of the time they closed, they started early and closed late. When we finished packing, I met with the person that contracted us and asked for our balance, he gave me in cash and when I took the money to the bus, I didn't even waste time to give everyone in the crew that came.

When we left and got back to Uyo, I branched my favourite food spot and bought rice beans and stew and ate. That would take.me for my evening food. I was tired already, so after eating, I took my leave to go and bath so that I will rest.

When I got back home, I took my bath and struggled to attend the class for the day and immediately after that, I went through the report my staffs sent to me and then I called it a day by sharing this diary. Thank you for all your time today.
