The Diary Game: Another Saturday To Play In An Event ||17-01-2026||

Happy Sunday, house. It was a Saturday meant for traditional marriage ceremonies and I was contacted as usual alongside my crew to come and make the place lively with our magic fingers. So blessed that I wasn't contacted for burial because this is a new year and I don't want to play in burials just yet.

The designs and everything was giving premium celebration, now here is the catch, the person that is about to be wedded is my classmate back in Secondary school, he learnt of recent that I have a band, so he quickly contacted me to come play in his ceremony and I felt really honoured to do so. I went with the best team members.

As a normal traditional ceremony here in this part of the country, it's starts by 3pm, so that those that went to their various place of works and endeavours would be back home to at least join them. When people began to come, we started warming up the place as we should. I was the one handling the bass guitar, I didn't want another because this one was really closed to my heart.

If you have been looking my diary closely and specifically, the one I share my work adventures, you will know that I have been taking my time to talk about the decoration because that's the colour of the ceremony, that's what makes the ceremony what it is. I applauded the decorator because the person ate it and left no crumbs. Looking at the couple's chambers, you will agree that this particular one is something a roadside decorator can't do.

Let me quickly talk about the couples, this two are just perfect for each other, dark marries the light skinned lady and the chubby marries the slim lady, such combo is what we need because the offspring will come out perfectly built, combining their genes and all of that. I think, people should be advised to do this on a regular instead of doing the opposite.

When the MC was making the couples to perform their traditional rites, I was pressed so I went to the backyard to ease myself, So I met this guy who was selecting the remaining afang leaves in the kitchen, when I inquired of him, I was told he was the decorator and also the caterer that was employed to cook for the event. Such a young, vibrant and humble person. I mean, how he didn't even want anything to waste got me, I later asked if he was taking the afang, he told me he was giving it back to those that paid him. This is loyalty at it peak.

I went back to our stand and within some minutes, the event came to an end. I went to the couples to appreciate them for trusting my band and also assure them that if they ever get to contact me again, I will give them a good discount and I know, very soon, they will put to birth and call me to come and play in their child dedication.

We left the venue and got back home very late, I couldn't eat again in the evening because I ate at the venue, I only had to freshen up and went to buy snacks and also buy detergent and some toiletries and that was all for the day.
