My Creative Writing: Naming Ceremony In Ibibio Land

Hi beautiful people of Steemit platform, happy weekend and welcome to my blog. Hope we all are doing pretty good. Today, I'll be sharing a little inspiration on naming ceremony in Ibibio Land so please, stay glued and read through it with love from @uyaiuyo

On this day, we attended the naming ceremony of my husband's friend whose wife just put to birth a bouncing baby boy and thus day was the seventh day for the naming ceremony. His friends came from far and near to witness the ceremony.

After the pastor had prayed and the parents named the child, the main celebration with his friends begun. There was displayed of different hot drinks, native hot drinks with some herbal roots that has a lot of medicinal benefits to the body, palmwine and lots more. It was a serve yourself kind of enjoyment, make you Kukuma carry your hands drink by yourself... Smiles.

Time to rob baby powder came and the mother of the new born baby was called out to come and greet her husband's friends and carryout the ritual (that is; they'll pour in good quantity of baby powder into a tray and the mother will take it around their guests and they'll all rob with a token in their hands.

At this point, anybody can put money just to rob the father of the child powder... Smiles, the most funniest part of the occasion.

We were not left out o, I personally participated with full chest where by I'll fine someone to unfine his or herself with money. I had a great time. Smiles.

After the powdered ritual, the money was brought back to the table and will now be handed over to the latest mother in town to use and but baby stuffs while refreshments continues. I know you learnt something new and had a great time reading this piece. Thank you.
