SFS Contest Picture of the Day Week 53

Hello, wonderful Steemian, It's great to participate in this week's picture of the day. Stay tuned as I begin.

Counties have different ways to bring people together, have fun and enjoy being a citizen. One of the ways is during festivals. Saturday was a memorable day in Akwa Ibom State as a sports festival was held despite a long-lasting rain that took place right from the morning hour.

The flag-off started in Ibom Hall, IBB, way down to the Governor's House at Barracks Road before returning to the stadium. Different local governments that made up Akwa Ibom came with their culture; different cultural groups were also present, all showcasing various plays, games, dances and singing.

One of the beautiful culture displays was a certain masquerade known as 'inue-ekpo'; some people call it 'obio-okpok'. It is one of the masquerades that can dance very well despite being the tallest, and many people do have fun and enjoy watching.

The event was colourful and successful at the end. Many people don't allow the rain to distract them from coming out to have fun. Since it's a yearly activity, a massive number were present, making the road crowded. As a result of the massive number, there was a hold-up on the road.

Cars, both private and public, buses, and taxis were ordered by road wardens officials to drive in one lane while one side of the road was used for the festival. I believe continually celebrating in this sport festival, the event will take on a different atmosphere in which people will love it more.
