Greetings, dear friends! I believe you are all fine as I am. I am delighted to participate in this week's contest titled "Prove yourself as the best artist for the week", organised by @dequeen. I believe this drawing will stand out among others. I wish you happy reading and viewing.

This week, I drew a horse feeding on fresh grass. A horse is a one-toed hoofed animal. It usually grows large, has four legs, and is herbivorous, meaning it feeds solely on green grasses and other leaves. It is a domesticated animal.

Some facts about horses

1. A full-grown male horse is called a stallion
2. A full-grown female horse is called a mare.
3. A horse kept for breeding is called a stud.
4. Young horses are generally called foals.
5. The horse symbolises strength & determination.
6. Horses have a strong hearing ability
7. Horses also show emotions
8. Horses are used in sport
9. Horses are a source of food (meat)
10. Horses serve as a source of income to man
11. Horses are herbivorous animals
12. Horses serve as a means of transportation.

Materials for the drawing

• Embossed paper
• Pencils
• Eraser
• Sharpener

Step 1
I started the drawing from the ear of the horse, down to the head of the horse, the neck and the mouth.

Step 2
Here, I drew the crest, the back, the group and the dock of the horse.

Step 3
I drew one of the forelegs and one of the hind legs. I began with the elbow down to the knee and rounded with the heel. I then drew the barrel (Stomach) of the horse and then the gaskin, hook, cannon and heel of the hind leg.

Step 4
I drew the second hind legs and the second front legs.

Step 5
I drew the eye and the tail of the horse. I also shaded the body of the horse, the four legs.

Step 6
I shaded the heel of the horse using a 10B pencil and I also shaded the neck and the head of the horse. I concluded the step by drawing the crest (hair) on the neck and darkened the tail.

Step 7
I shaded the ground level and drew the grass that the horse is eating.

✅ How long did it take to complete your drawing, and how do you feel about it?

This drawing took me approximately two hours to complete and I feel satisfied.
