"Prove yourself as the best artist for the week".

Greetings dear friends. I am so excited to participate in this week's contest. I appreciate @dequeen for organising this contest titled "Prove yourself as the best artist for the week". Below is my entry and I am sure that you will appreciate it. Thank you.

✅ Explain what you draw in your own words.

What I drew today is the portrait of a teenage girl wearing a yellow shirt and a red ribbon to hold her hair in place.

Materials for the drawing

• White embossed paper
• Pencils
• Eraser
• Sharpener
• Crayola colour
• Cotton wool

Step 1
The first thing I did in this step was to write my username and date at the top left corner of the paper, and then I drew the left eye of the teenager.

Step 2
Here, I drew the second eye using an HB pencil.

Step 3
In this third step, I drew the nose and the mouth of the teenager using an HB pencil

Step 4
I drew the outline of the girl's face and her right ear. I also drew the eyebrows of the two eyes.

Step 5
I drew the ribbon she used to hold her hair together, and I also drew the neck, shoulder, and shirt of the teenage girl.

Step 6
I drew the hair on the head. I began with the front hair and concluded with the back hair using a 2B pencil.

Step 7
I coloured the ribbon on the girl's head red. I then darkened the eyebow using a 6B pencil. I also shaded the eyelid black using a 10B pencil. I drew the eyelashes and concluded by shading the lips.

Step 8
I lightly shaded the face of the girl and blended it with cotton wool. I shaded the neck of the lady and lastly, I coloured the shirt of the girl yellow.

✅ How long did it take to complete your drawing, and how do you feel about it?

The drawing took me approximately 2 hours to complete, and I was so excited because the drawing came out clean. Below is the original and my drawing.

What inspired me to make this drawing was how the teenage girl kept her hair in the image. Below is my selfie.
