"Contest 39 | My favorite outfit this week.."
Style is never simply about the fabric that sits on one's back; it's the process taken to find it and what makes you feel when putting it on. Today, I'm channeling a blend of vintage warmth and modern edge-a look that feels like a quiet Sunday morning, even when the world around me is moving fast.
What's your favorite outfit this week?Describe it by sharing its photos. |

This week, my style philosophy was all about blending comfort with statement textures. It's been a little overcast this past week, so I wanted an outfit that felt cozy, but looked sharp.
The star of this outfit is definitely the cardigan. It’s a cream-colored, heavy-knit piece with a bold, dark brown geometric pattern across the chest. I love the "grandpa-core" vintage aesthetic it gives off. Adding wooden buttons gives a rustic touch that elevates the quality of the look. It’s the kind of piece that feels like a warm hug but commands attention.
To contrast the knitwear, I paired it with loose-fitting chocolate brown trousers. A closer look at the photos will reveal they boast an interesting starburst/spiderweb tie-dye pattern. This adds a bit of artistic flair and keeps the outfit from looking too plain.
I kept the base simple: a crisp white collared shirt underneath to brighten up the earth tones. Accessories-wise, it was a classic gold wristchain to add a subtle shine, and my headphones-because a good outfit is always better with a soundtrack.
Why do you like this outfit. |
|---|
I love this outfit because it balances nostalgia with boldness.
The Cardigan: That heavy knit and Fair Isle pattern is just so "grandpa-chic" and comforting. It's textured and heavy and feels like a shield against the elements-perfect for this cloudy weather.
The Trousers: I paired the soft knit with these dark, patterned trousers to break the softness. The web-like geometric print adds a sharp streetwear edge that keeps things from feeling dated.
The Vibe: It's effortless. It's the kind of fit that says, "I didn't try too hard, but I know I look good." Standing here against the modern architecture, the earthy tones of my fit keep me grounded as the sky turns grey.
Where did you get this outfit?Tell me about the location. |

This outfit has a story that starts at the heartbeat of Edo State: Ring Road, Benin City.
If you know Benin, you know Ring Road isn’t just an address; it is an experience. Think of a day balanced with the energy of the city at its peak, which is the cacophony of horn sounds, the yelling of conductors, and the cadence of people rushing past each other through the market.
I moved with the crowd, with humid air thick with smells from food hawkers and dust, scanning for something that would stand out from the noise.
That is when I saw it. Through the commotion of the market, the cream knit cardigan hit my eyes. Finding a diamond in the rough, so to speak.
It was one of those moments of serendipity, reaching into the most energetic place in the city and pulling out something cozy and tranquil. So I got the Trousers to go along, back through the stalls, until the whole vision came all together. I didn't just have clothes when I walked away from Ring Road that day; I had a memory.
