A portrait of a lady in her sleep
I titled this piece, this was a quick sketch i just finished so as to wrap up my night.
The Sleeping Beauty
She rests where silence feels safe,
cheek pressed gently against a gentle pillow.
Her eyes speak of days lived,
A window to her soul we cant see,
of tears she never showed the world.
Sleep holds her like a careful friend,
guarding secrets tucked behind closed lashes.
In this moment, she is untouched by worry.
The pillow carries her weight like a Lorry,
patiently beneath her fragile calm.
Maybe she is walking through memories,
barefoot across moments she once loved.
Maybe she is meeting tomorrow early,
gathering strength before the sun calls her back.
Sleep paints her face with tenderness.
Here, she is only human.
No expectations,
Just a soul enjoying before she wakes.
And while the world spins without pause,
she remains a calm island of peace,
reminding us that rest is not weakness.
It is healing,
It is beauty in its softest, truest Authenticity.
