Hello guys, its another new week of showing my beautiful art work in this community and i feel happy to do this, this contest is organized by no other person but @dequeen its a contest where she give fellow artist like me an opportunity to showcase our talents on the steem fashion&style community.

In this drawing i wrote a poem about my work and i will be sharing it below
i titled it:

"A Black Boy’s Truth"

I’m just a boy,
but the world already expects too much from me.
They look at my skin
before they hear my voice.
Sometimes before they see my heart.
I learn early how to walk carefully,
how to watch my tone,
how to shrink myself
so I don’t scare anyone.

I carry fear I never asked for.
I carry history I didn’t live
but somehow still feel.
Stories passed down in pain,
lessons wrapped in warning.
I came to realize,
No one is coming to save me,
so i find ways to survive.

They tell me to work harder,
be better, prove myself
as if existing isn’t already work.

Some days I’m tired in ways sleep can’t fix.
Some days I want to cry,
but strength is expected,
so I swallow it whole.
Still, I dream.
Even when the road feels unfair.
Even when doors close quietly.
Even when hope feels like a risk.

I’m a black boy,
learning how to survive,
learning how to believe,
learning how to become more
than the world allows me to be.

Materials

The Materials used for this work are very simple:
i made use of two charcoal pencil, one is very soft and the other one i used for my sketches before shading is an Hard charcoal pencil. in the image you will also see an eraser and a razor blade to sharpen my pencils.

• Rasor
• A4 paper

Progress

This stage shows my beggining stage, where i made my sketch.

i proceeded towards sketching the hair first, the hair is one of the fundamentals of this drawing, i tried as much as possible to create a texture pattern that will relate to the original look of a human hair.

I used a shading technique called hatching this helped me to create a proper texture design on my art and there are some areas where i added blurring method and also scribbling.

Final Rendering

in my drawing i showed the beauty of tonal gradation and also value, lighting and contrast. all this elements helped in the beautifying of my work and also bringing out the beauty of this drawing.
