Hello Steemians

How are you doing?

Today I will be sharing with me a picture of a girl I saw online and decided to draw and use it for this contest. Actually today isn't work day it's stay back home day.
So I decided to draw with my black pen. Let me work the steps along side with you.

Step 1

First, I drew a basic curved dome shape on my paper. This was just the beginning - a simple form to represent the head. I was bit contemplating if I will get the drawing right because I am always bad when it comes to drawing people especially girls with a face cap. Didn't know how it will look like. I continue before I knew I will comeback to finish it.

I went ahead to draw out the the face cap making sure it really looks like a normal face cap on a person's head. After I finally brought out the face cap I added the side hair of the image I was drawing.

Step 2

Next I sketched the side view of a girl's face. I drew a simple nose chin and jawline using light curved lines. I kept it basic so I could change things if I needed to. Then I added a curved baseball cap on top of the head.

Step 3

I drew hair dangling under the cap. I created a nice ponytail that goes down from the back of the head. I used curved lines to show how the hair moves and falls.
I extended lines down from the head to create the neck and shoulders. I kept these lines simple and not too detailed at this stage.

Step 4

Now I drew the eye ear and mouth. I created the eyelashes and lips to make look lively and realistic. These small details really made a difference. I went over all with a darker pen to make them stand out. I made clean bold strokes so everything looked clear and finished.

Step 5

I used cross hatching type of shading for the drawing. I shaded the cap darker with my black pen added texture to the hair and created some shadows to make look nice This made everything look three dimensional. Finally, I added extra shading where shadows naturally fall - under the cap, inside the hair folds, and on the neck. This completed the whole drawing and made it look complete.
