DIARY GAME: SLAB CONDUIT 14/05/2026

My life style has changed in just few months. The harder I work, the luckier I get because there are no shortcuts to any place worth going. As they say "Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing".

Today was hard because of the work I and @us-andrew.
It's not stress that kills us, it is our reaction to it. In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity. Since we are desperate in becoming an electricians we sacrifice so much in learning how to do wiring. When defense comes we go sabi wetin we go talk.

Today we did Conduit Rough-In (Slab Conduit).

Let me explain it. When builders are constructing the upstairs floor they pour liquid concrete over a metal deck. Once that concrete hardensit becomes basically a solid rock slab.

Now imagine trying to run electrical wires through solid concrete after it's already dried.

Yeah... not happening.

This is how we the future electricians do
So before the concrete is poured we the electricians come in and lay down 25mm plastic pipes on the deck.

The concrete gets poured around those pipes.

When it hardens the pipes are locked inside but still the 25mm pipe.

Now whenever they're ready, electricians can easily feed wires through those pipes like threading a needle. Making our work look good.

Now

The pipes = Conduit (usually PVC)
The process of laying them early = Rough-in or Slab Conduit
Pulling wires through later = Wire pulling

Basically it's just planning ahead so you don't create a problem for yourself later. Smart construction.

While we're working @us-andrew and I took some walk with we saw people fighting just for no reason and @us-andrew did a jump.

That's how I spent good 12hours in the site.
