The Diary Game – A Friday with a Not-Too-Busy Schedule
Hello, good morning and warm greetings to all my fellow Steemians. How are you all doing today? I hope everyone is in good health and under the protection of Allah SWT, enabling you to carry out your daily activities smoothly. Alhamdulillah, I am back to share the activities of this blessed day.
For Muslims across the globe, Friday is a truly special day—a day filled with mercy and blessings that we should strive to make the most of. As the fifth day of the Islamic calendar, Friday is known as the "King of Days" or Sayyidul Ayyam. It is considered special for good reason; many significant events in Islamic history occurred on this day. Among them, it is believed to be the day Allah SWT reunited Prophet Adam (AS) with his beloved wife, Siti Hawa, at Jabal Rahmah after years of separation. As usual, I began this blessed morning by waking up just before dawn as the Adhan (call to prayer) echoed.
I rose from bed and headed to the bathroom to freshen up. After performing wudu (ablution), I stepped out and prepared to fulfill my primary religious obligation. Before leaving the house, I made sure to drink a glass of water—something highly beneficial for health. I then stepped outside when I heard the Iqamah, signaling that the Subuh (dawn) prayer was about to commence. After performing the congregational Subuh prayer at the Babul Huda Mosque in Panggoi, I spent a brief moment in i'tikaf (spiritual retreat/meditation) alongside the other congregants. This was an act of gratitude for the health and opportunities Allah continues to bestow upon me to this very moment.
A short while later, I left the mosque to return home. I took a moment to go for a walk through my residential complex. Afterward, I lay down next to little Raffa, who was still fast asleep. While waiting for my child to wake up, I picked up my smartphone to catch up on the latest news and information via various online media outlets. News regarding the World Cup group stage results continues to dominate the headlines. In today's digital age, accessing the latest updates takes mere seconds. However, discerning and carefully evaluating this information requires intelligence and caution; otherwise, we risk falling for false reports or hoaxes, ultimately to our own detriment.
When little Raffa woke up, I kept him company and played with him at home, especially since there was no urgent work to attend to. Just before 9:00 AM, I headed out to drop him off at daycare. Afterward, I stopped briefly at my regular coffee shop to enjoy a cup of black coffee. I spent nearly an hour there before heading to school, returning home just before midday. On my way back, I picked up my child from daycare and went straight home. Once home, I played with little Raffa again while waiting for the time for Friday prayers. After the prayers and for the rest of the evening, I simply went about my usual routine at home.
