Nabiganj Boat Terminal, Narayanganj

Nabiganj Boat Terminal is a vital boat terminal in Narayanganj city. It is located on the banks of the Shitalakshya River in Narayanganj city. Since the boat terminal is at the middle point of Narayanganj city, numerous passengers travel there every day. Passengers are transported here by small boats and a few ferries. Cars from Narayanganj city cross the river by ferry. People travel by small boats. It costs 2 taka (0.2 Steem) to enter the boat terminal. Then it costs five taka in local currency or 0.5 Steem by boat.

By taking the river terminal, people can travel from Narayanganj city to the Nabiganj area in a very short time. Traveling by road requires a lot of money and time. Therefore, every day, numerous people cross the river into Narayanganj city in a very short time to conduct business and official work. The river terminal is the most important because it supplies goods to Narayanganj city.

The river dries up in winter, so a bamboo bridge is provided to reach the terminal. The boats transport passengers in two groups. The larger boats transport about fifty passengers at a time. The smaller boats transport reserve passengers. The reserve boats cost ten taka (local currency) or 1 Steem per person.

Buses, trucks, and small cars are transported by ferry. There are medium-sized ferries at the water terminal. There are numerous factories on both sides of the Shitalakshya River, and the terminal is used to load and unload their goods. The water terminal sees more passengers in the morning and afternoon as office, school, and college passengers commute.
