How are you? I hope you are well. I am also fine by the grace of Allah. Today is Friday, September 11, 2026. It is my weekly day off, a day I usually spend with my family. In today's diary entry, I am going to share some notable moments from the day.

My day did not start as usual; on most days, the morning is a rush of activity getting the children ready for school and preparing for my office. However, since both school and the office were closed today, I slept in comfortably and woke up at 8:45 AM. After washing up and freshening up, and attending to a few household chores, I sat down for breakfast at 10:00 AM. Today's breakfast was a bit different from the norm. While we usually have roti (flatbread) in the morning, my wife prepared khichuri (a spiced rice and lentil dish) for everyone. We enjoyed a breakfast of beef khichuri accompanied by boiled eggs.

Next, I set out to do some weekly grocery shopping. On holidays, I usually handle the shopping for fish, meat, and dry goods, while I buy vegetables on a daily basis. I started at the fish market. It was bustling with crowds, and there was an abundant supply of fish; the vendors know that demand for fish and meat rises on holidays. Every stall was well-stocked with various types of fish, all of which looked fresh. People were browsing from stall to stall, selecting fish and bargaining over prices before making their purchases.
I, too, looked over the selection and ended up buying three varieties of fish from two different stalls:

I also bought some vegetables from the market
Since cleaning and cutting Rui fish at home is a bit of a hassle, I had it dressed right there at the market before heading to the vegetable stalls. I found a similar scene there—plenty of activity and fresh produce. I bought a few vegetables and then headed back home.
It was 11:30 AM when I arrived home. My wife began organizing and storing the fish. Meanwhile, I went to check on the children; since it was a holiday, they were spending the time leisurely. I joined them to make their leisure time more enjoyable and spent quite a while in their company. Just then, my wife brought out some jambura (pomelo), a local fruit. I enjoyed the taste of the pomelo along with the children.

As time passed, it turned into afternoon, and the call to prayer (Azan) for the Friday Jumu'ah prayer rang out from the mosque. I began getting ready for prayers, and my youngest son prepared to join me. I set off for the mosque at 1:00 PM. A large number of worshippers had gathered there; since hardly anyone wants to miss the Friday prayer, the mosque was quite crowded. I performed the Jumu'ah prayer alongside hundreds of others and then headed back home.

It was 2:30 PM when we all sat down to eat together. This is the one day of the week when we get the chance to have lunch as a family, creating a festive atmosphere. After enjoying the meal in a cheerful setting, I went to rest and eventually fell asleep.
I woke up at 4:30 PM, freshened up, and took some mangoes out of the refrigerator. I had stored some mangoes during the season, and now I occasionally take them out to make juice. Today, too, I took out a few mangoes and prepared some juice. I added almonds, cashews, raisins, and milk to the mix, turning the juice into a nutritious treat.

After serving the juice to the children, I took them out; although evening was approaching, the sky remained clear and bright. The atmosphere was so lovely that it naturally lifted my spirits. I spent the time until evening on the rooftop with the children, enjoying the open sky.

In the evening, after performing the Maghrib prayer and spending some more time with the kids, I logged into Steemit. I began working on a post, balancing the task with spending time with the children. By 10:00 PM, I had finished my post. I then sat down for dinner and finally went to bed at 11:30 PM.
