Due to rapid urbanization, the capital Dhaka and its surrounding areas are becoming concrete cities day by day. The number of open and green spaces to breathe a sigh of relief amidst population pressure, traffic jams, noise pollution and air pollution is decreasing alarmingly. In such a context, planned parks and open spaces for city dwellers play a very important role. Jalsiri Central Park is one such planned city park, which has been developed within a modern housing project and has added a new dimension to urban life.
Location and Geographical Context
Jalsiri Central Park is located near the Purbachal New Town area, in the heart of the Jalsiri Housing Project. It has direct connectivity with important connecting roads of the capital such as Kuril Bishwa Road and 300 Feet Road. As a result, it is possible to reach the park from different parts of Dhaka in a short time. Being located within a residential area, the traffic pressure around the park is low and the environment is relatively calm.
