Power must be retained and if it will be so, it must be within the ambience of holy living. Power is so prone to many fault or feature and this is why sanctification is the only controlling instrument of power. Today there are many power races but we detect the real ones by holy living. The message is examined under two sub-headings;

(1) Failed power without purity: Matthew 7:21, he that doeth the will of my father which is in heaven. What is the will all about? 1st Thessalonians 4:3-4, Possess your vessel Sanctification and honour. We are vessels of God's power, but we should do it in sanctification. 2nd Timothy 2:20-21, the only vessel to be respected is that one purged, sanctified and meet for the master's use. The people who did not take heed to possessing their vessels in sanctification, displayed power but later turned to failures. Matthew 7: 21-22, many casualties will result on account of this negligence of not doing the will of God, Numbers 24:4.

Balaam saw the vision of the Almighty but because of not possessing his vessel in holiness, he died as a sinner. Numbers 31:16, 2nd Peter 2:16; Revelation 2:14. The man of God from Judah in 1st Kings 13:1-26, failed for not possessing his vessel in holiness and sanctification though he had power. Samson, in the book of Judges 13:3-5, 24-25; 16:1-6,16-21, Samson's carelessness ruined his ministry. He did not possess his vessels in sanctification.

(2) Fulfilled ministry attainable by holy living or sanctification: Fulfilled ministry can only be attainable by one's holy living and sanctification, Matthew 7:24 - Doing the will of God makes you solid. Phillipians. 3:9-10 - That I may know him. What will you know in the Lord? It is holy living. Psalms 24:3-4 Luke 10: 19-20 - What matters most in power is not necessarily the volume of sings you receive, but the approval God has given you.
