9th Birthday on Steemit

Sometime tonight, as you can see from this SteemWorld screenshot, I will have my ninth birthday on Steemit. I do not know what time is used on this website, could be European Time so I think it is just good enough to know that on the 5th of August I am nine years old. I guess I am one of the oldest active Steemit users, as I know that a lot of the guys that were older than I moved on and are no longer present on Steemit.

It has been a rollercoaster these nine years, first of all personally I have had some difficult moments financially as I have been unemployed since 2013 and have only managed the occasional odd job or covering vacations but nothing steady. So I actually have used Steemit money to meet some needs. But lately I am trying to get as far ahead in staked Steem as I can. In fact I have a goal of 2,500 Steem for this year and I am nearly there as you shall see.

As for my Steem journey, as I said it has been a roller coaster, sometimes I have been completely happy sometimes not that much. I really did not and do not, like downvotes. I do not like voting bots. But I have had to comply with things and I am still here. The place is of course much different than back then. I was first attracted to Steemit by an ebook which I bought where it said that you could make money on this platform by just writing, a guy had just made $15,000.00 with a short article. That of course caught my eye, I am no writer but for that money I could give it a try. Alas it was not to be, my breaking post just made a few cents and I was quickly disappointed. So I started the leave and come back walk. But I always did come back. I have been active, completely for close on two years now. My staked Steem lays bare the fact that thousand dollar posts are no longer possible. but I have gotten a few good votes so I am good.

Now as a birthday present to myself, I am going to make a power up. I will just show you what I have in liquid Steem and stake that.

First I have to redeem my rewards.

And now I will power up the liquid Steem.

So there you go, I now have 2,336 staked Steem. As my goal for this year is 2,500 staked Steem, I am now short of 164 Steem to reach that goal. Being I have nearly five months to do this, I am quite confident I will reach my goal.
