Greetings everyone!

It again that time of the season where I pick up my farming tools and prepare to be engaged in my seasonal okra planting,

Yes am a chef but also a very hard working farmers although I plant other crops in my home garden for consumption I also have a large farm for okra plantation.

Why might be wondering why I seldom make post about my farm, the reason is because this particular okra cultivation is a seasonal thing that happen just once in a year.

My farm land is in a swampy area at first you might wonder how crops can grow in such environment but it will amaze you how that swampy area can be turned into a fertile soil that can benefit the plants.

Am going to be making post on all the farm project and procedures, this is because so many people has location similar to this but do not know how to cultivate in it also what crops will fit the environment and also how the crops should be planted.

Here is the first procedure (water Channelling)

A month before the planting commence the water way opened at the center of the farm is clear of all obstacles blocking the the drainage path this will help reduced the previous year rain that was retained in the soil making it soggy and unfit for planting, the water in the above picture is not a river or stream but rather it is the water realised from the soil nearby this is to show how important this water draining system is.
This soil keeps releasing excess stagnant water which will take altleast 4 weeks to be completely dried up currently this is week 3 it a week time planting will commence.

While waiting for the soil to release water which is going to take at least a month a chemical will be sprayed so when the soil is ready the grass had already started drying out while can be cleared and burnt under a couple of days.

After my visit to the farm yesterday I was happy to see the progress on the soil which will be fit for planting in few days and will I be dropping update on every step of my seasonal okra planting.

This work requires a lot of patience and hard work to be able to achieve the best results.

Thank you for reading my post see you in my next update.
