The Diary Game - Sole care of our birds as my mum recovers||Farm/ nature and me || 24th September 2025.

The world is opening up after a cold night. I can hear cars passing, people talking loudly on their way to work and of course animals and insects are already looking for food or whatever they may find today.
Here's my first find for today.

Perched atop this wet leaf, doing what only it understands, I move on praying i would have a day as beautiful as this view.
It's been a rainy morning. The baffs and booter are full. The weather is still windy and cold but the birds must be attended to.

Water troughs filled.

The young birds of 4 weeks and have had their breakfast of some nutritious starter feed.
It's packed with ingredients such as : wheat, soybean meal, wheat offals, soy oil, salt, and a couple other stuffs.

We're slowly heading towards 6 weeks so it's important they get fed on time and with good portions so they can add weight.
Next is the cleaning of their drinkers as they can get messy sometimes.

Even when they don't get messy, we still clean the drinkers to ensure proper hygiene, also so they don't get sick as they're in a controlled environment- ie- their pen.
Once I'm done with these guys, I head straight to the big boys.

Hey, who's that?? They inquire.

While some peep through the opening at the door, the others make their stand at the barbed protector wire of their pen. At the slightest sound of footsteps, they're already up and about especially in the mornings or whenever they're hungry. They could pass for security alert systems😂😂. Now I think of it, there's a movie I saw that happen.
They've had a rough night courtesy the rain and their pen house is a bit water logged. Their roof is leaking in some places and the person we contracted and paid to get it fixed is no where to be found.

• Why do a lot of artisans and skilled workers do this?

I refuse to feel sad because I had just cleaned out this pen yesterday of the muddy water and dirt and it was gruelling work. Opening the pen I find out that the water isn't so bad and it can dry out. Thanks to the cleaning I did yesterday, the pen is relatively clean and not messed up. A big sigh of relief.

My sister in law is taking her little baby to the hospital for routine medication, and she's leaving my little nephew with me. He's a handful, we'll see how the day pans out with him.
After careful thought, she took him with her to run a couple checks at the clinic. What can I say??, I'm home alone.

I use the opportunity of this quiet to put out some of the goods I sell on my WhatsApp page, and I reply to a friend's message that has been there since yesterday. I've checked on the birds, and refilled their water drinkers. I think I'm going to see a movie next as the day is a slow one.
