My Diary Post - A Busy Day, Good Food & That Gym Reset I Didn’t Know I Needed || 02-04-2026 ||
Hello everyone
Hope your day went well and you found time to relax small, even if it wasn’t much.
As for me… today was one of those days that just kept moving from morning till night without really giving me a proper break.
I woke up quite early today, and once I was up, that was it—no going back to bed
Started off with a bit of cleaning, just putting things in order around the house. You know how a clean space just makes everything feel better? Like your head is clearer too.
After that, I entered the kitchen to fix something for breakfast. Nothing too serious, just something simple and satisfying.
I made fried plantain, and as always… it came out really nice.
That kind of meal you don't have very often and when you finish and just nod your head like “yeah, this makes sense” and remember why you love it so much.
From there, the day just got busy. One thing led to another, moving around, doing this and that… no real rest at all.
After in the day, we also got chicken for the upcoming Easter celebration.
The chicken. I hope she doesn't mess up everywhere tho
You already know how it is… once things like this start coming in, it’s a sign that cooking season is around the corner.
Later on, I had a proper meal—jollof rice, beans, and chicken (not the Easter chicken oh).
jollof rice, beans, and chicken, delicious
That plate? Very correct. Although while eating I bit a little sand-stone but that didn't spoil or stop the fun.
After the meal, while still about my duties/doings for the day, somewhere along the line, I started feeling it, that tiredness that is not just physical, but mental too.
And that’s when I decided, I'll be hitting the gym today.
that's me burning away my tiredness
These days, I don’t even go to the gym all the time like before.
It’s not even about schedule sometimes… it’s just that I go when I really feel like I need it.
And today? I definitely needed it.
Walking into the gym today, it wasn’t about “let me go and build muscle” or “let me stress myself.”
It was more like… “I need to feel better.” and by the end of the session, my decision paid off.
inside gym, I noticed there's been addition to the gym equipments
And honestly, that’s one thing I’ve come to understand about the gym is that, It’s not just about your body.
Yeah, you get stronger, you build stamina, you stay fit… all of that is good.
But the real benefit?
• It helps you clear your mind.
There’s something about moving your body, sweating a bit, focusing on reps… it takes your mind off everything else.
•The stress reduces.
•The overthinking calms down.
•Even your mood changes small.
After working out, I just felt lighter. Not like all my problems disappeared… but they didn’t feel as heavy anymore.
And sometimes, that’s all you need.
After the gym, I came back home, took my bath, and finally had that moment to just lie down.
At that point, it was already past 8pm, I picked up my phone, started scrolling… just normal stuff.
Next thing........ Sleep don carry me go!
I didn’t even realise when I slept off. Woke up later, checked the time—past 11pm. I just laughed because clearly, my body needed that rest badly
Looking back now, today was actually a full day.
From cleaning, to cooking, to moving around, to eating good food… and finally ending it with a gym session that helped me reset.
Some days are just about doing what you can, taking care of yourself where possible, and allowing your body and mind to recover when needed.
How was your own day? And be honest… do you also go to the gym for your mind sometimes, not just your body?
