Hello Steem Fam🥰🥰

I love Fashion designing because I derive so much satisfaction seeing people happy, comfortable and beautifully dressed. Today, I'd love to share how my journey into fashion began and why it continues to be one of the things I'm so passionate about.

How I Discovered My Passion.

wearing a dress I made.

Growing up, I was always fascinated by beautiful clothes and would pick up pieces of fabric waste from fashion houses and dumpsters to make dresses for my baby doll. Anytime I saw a beautiful outfit, I wished I could create something beautiful one day. As I got older, it became a passion and after secondary school, I enrolled for my first sewing course.

My First Sewing Experience

My first sewing experience wasn't perfect. I remember feeling both excited and scared of learning how to operate the sewing machine, cut fabric correctly, and sew straight lines. It looked much harder than I expected because I made so many mistakes, loosed stitches lots of times, and I almost gave up. But those mistakes helped me to be better and as I completed my projects, I gained more confidence. I'm just grateful I didn't give up.

Challenges Along The Way.

Combining school and fashion was tough but i scaled through as the star student.

I learned tailoring as a beginner and upgrade student during my time at university. Combining a demanding course and a demanding hand work wasn't easy at all as my department always took attendance after each lecture. I had to rely on learning fashion during short holidays and weekends.

Another challenge was starting up. It was very difficult to access grants and sponsors so I had to save up a lot. I also encountered different fabrics that had their own unique issues but i found a way to navigate.

There were moments when projects didn't turn out the way I imagined, but instead of seeing them as failures, saw them as opportunities to improve.

My Biggest Motivation.

Seeing more people laugh like this in my craft is my biggest motivation.

One thing that keeps me going is the smile on my clients faces whenever I complete a piece. It reminds me why I started. Also, seeing my students excel and grow in the fashion industry is something that gives me so much joy. I also enjoy learning new sewing techniques and challenging myself with different styles and designs. I love how every project is a chance for me to learn something new, and that growth keeps me going.

My Fashion Goals

I go to work everyday, knowing that my goals are valid and achievable.

Fashion is more than a skill to me, it's been my dream and passion since I was a child.

My goal is to continue improving my craft by attending more workshops and upgrade classes, also create outfits that scream creativity, and build a fashion brand known for quality and originality.

I also hope to inspire other young people who want to learn fashion designing by showing them that everyone started as a beginner and no one was perfect at first. I hope I'll be an example that patience, practice, and determination is possible to turn a dream into something meaningful.

Conclusion.

This is just the first post in my "Fashion Diary " series, and I'm excited to share more of my journey, sewing tips, and projects with you in the coming weeks. Thank you so much for reading.

Love you all, Bye 👋 😘 ❤️
