The Diary Game: Constructing A Local Drainage System On My Farm[8/5/2026]

Drainage is also a farm practice carryout on the farm. Drainage is very important in farming because too much water on the farm can affect the growth of crop because not all crop need excess water. Therefore it is necessary to control water on those crop that does require enough water. Drainage has some important benefit on farming such as 1. for crop that doesn't require too much water such as maize, cassava e.t.c and also for crop that need too much water such as some species of rice. 2. Drainage help to control erosion on the farm which prevent transfer of nutrients on the farm to another place through erosion which will affect the yield of the crop.

When I walked around today to check one of my farmland I notice some area are waterlogged while erosion is going on in some part of the farm which is not good for the crop I planted and the nutrients on the farm is being reduce as a result of the erosion goin on.

I was not happy seeing these because it will affect the maize I planted because maize doesn't grow well in waterlogged area. seeing my farm in this situation I decided to come back home and pick my hole to construct a local drainage to channel water to another side so that my farm will be free of erosion and waterlogging.

When I return back to the farm I bend down and start constructing the local drainage with the hole I carry. Though it is not work I plan to do today but I have to suspend the other work to make sure I achieve this to avoid further damage to my crop.
