FRAGMENTS OF CHILDHOOD

Hello Steemians, I today's video I will be sharing with you the fragments of childhood. I will be sharing some things hear because I did a video. The video has everything. I wanted to participate in a challenge but I couldn't. Let me begin with the seven question.

What does your childhood smell, sound, or taste like? What food or sweet takes you back?

My childhood smells like the great smells from scents leaves, and sounds likes a sounds of pounding a boiled yam that's going to be used for white soup. The food that takes me back is the sugar cane. The sweetness in it is what I liked.

What was your favorite game or the corner where you spent the most time?

My favorite game was Ukpang

How the Game is Played – Step by Step:
You need a small gravels or any small object you can throw (usually 5 or 7).
The stones are scattered on the ground. Those playing stands or squats in front of them.
Process: Throw the ball up. While the ball is in the air, quickly pick up one stone from the ground.
Catch the ball with the same hand before it touches the ground. If you succeed, you keep that stone aside.
Now you throw the ball up again, but this time you must pick up two stones at once before catching the ball.
Then three stones, then four, and so on, until you pick all the stones at once.
Rules:
If you fail to catch the ball or pick the stones in time, your turn ends and the next player plays.
When your turn comes again, you continue from where you stopped.
The first person to finish all the levels wins.

The corner I loved was the veranda of our house. I would sit there, especially when it rained, to watch and listen to the rain on the roof.

What simple moment from your childhood still makes you smile?

Going to the stream with my mother. The women would wash clothes and talk. We, the children, would play in the water, chasing small fish. The happy walk back home still makes me smile.

What was a normal day like at your school, at home, or in your neighborhood?

My day started early. My mother would wake me up to do chores like fetching water or sweeping.

At school, we would line up in the morning for assembly.

After school, I did more chores. In the evening, I played with all the children in the compound until it was time for dinner.

What difference do you see between childhood then and now?

The big difference is togetherness.
