The Diary Game: A Long Day At Work And A Lucky Discovery(16/05/2026)

Greetings everyone, I am Emmanuel and my username is @smithbillz. Getting up this morning from bed was a big struggle but I tried as I have to take responsibility for the job I applied for. I did everything I had to do that morning and left for work. I arrived at work and waited for my boss, it took her almost eternity to arrive and I almost thought it was the last Saturday of the month but I remembered I'm not in Akwa Ibom so I kicked that thought out of my mind and hoped that my boss was okay.

My boss arrived some minutes past nine in the morning and wasn't looking alright and I had to ask about how she's doing so she said she's fine though she was coming from the hospital that her sister was involved in an accident. I told her sorry and went on with my work, I cleaned the shelves and did stock taking before my boss left. I sipped garri with groundnut as my breakfast and it was sponsored by my coworker.

In the afternoon, I was still doing my work, serving customers, charging gadgets and also having small conversation with my coworkers. One suggested that we should be doing shift instead of the three of us working at once in a day. It was a good idea but I knew it might not be accepted by our boss because of our large our bar is with different people coming in per time to patronize us.

In the evening, I went home after work and was worried about what to eat. We had soup at home but didn't have garri or fufu to eat with it and I only had one hundred in my account which would have not been enough to buy garri so I lie on my bed thinking of what to do. I took my bath and changed to another short and sat outside for fresh air as the room was hot, I touched my pocket and felt something in it so I checked if it was money or paper and found five hundred naira in it.

I was very happy and ran inside to boil water before going to a shop close to my house and bought garri. I went home and made garri, warmed the soup and scooped it, me and my coworkers ate our dinner. I went back outside after eating and sat but mosquitoes didn't let me have peace of mind do I had to choose heat over malaria. I'm happy to be here and I'm looking forward to a great experience, thank you steemit.
