Spring day in Sokolniki Park: a walk with my sister Yulia and the children

in STEEM FOR BETTERLIFElast month
Spring in Moscow is the time when the city wakes up after a long winter hibernation, filled with fresh greenery and light. On one of these warm April days, I went for a walk to Sokolniki Park with my sister Yulia and our children. It was not just a walk, but a real celebration of feelings and joy.

When we entered the park, the first thing we were greeted with was the scent of blooming flowers: delicate lilacs, bright tulips and the juicy greenery of fresh leaves. The sun softly illuminated the paths, making its way through the trees that had not yet fully blossomed, creating bizarre patterns of light and shadow on the ground. The air was filled with the chirping of birds — their singing seemed especially sonorous and joyful after the silence of the winter months.

The children immediately rushed to the large playground, where swings swayed slowly in the wind, and the sandbox beckoned with numerous bright toys. The kids enthusiastically sculpted sand slides, built castles and talked animatedly, showing each other their creations. Yulia and I sat on a bench next to each other, enjoying the scent of fresh grass and the muffled noise of the city, which seemed distant and insignificant in this green oasis.

Further along the path, we came across a small pond with ducks swimming in it. The children curiously fed them bread crumbs, laughing and enthusiastically watching the swaying of the water. The first spring snowdrops were growing near the shore, which looked like small white stars against the background of bright green grass.

I especially remember the moment when we reached the old birch alley. Light filtered through the thin young leaves, and a light breeze stirred them, creating the music of nature. Yulia told how, as a child, she and the guys from the yard often came here to play and had picnics. We also decided to have a small snack: we took out sandwiches and tea from a thermos, sitting on a blanket right on the grass.

At the end of the walk, when the sun began to sink to the horizon, we slowly returned to the exit of the park, taking with us the warm memories of that wonderful spring day. Sokolniki seemed especially lively, bright and sincere on this day. This walk reminded us how important family moments and the simple joy of being together in nature are.
