Portrait Drawing

Welcome to my blog dear friends and fellow steemians. I am pleased to present to you the portrait drawing of a beautiful lady, created using pencil in this community. May you enjoy the step-by-step presentation.

A portrait is defined as the artistic representation of someone that captures their beauty, mood, likeness, and other characteristics, typically from the head down to the shoulders.

Materials for the drawing

• White embossed paper
• 5B pencil
• 2B pencil
• HB pencil
• Eraser
• Razor blade
• Brush

Step 1
I began this portrait drawing from the forehead down to the eye level, the cheek and the lower jaw. I then sketched the hair on the forehead and a line of hair that runs from the forehead through the cheek down to the shoulder. Lastly, I sketched part of the nose, the left eyebrow and the eye.

Step 2
I shaded the eyebrow using a 2B pencil, the black eyelid, and the eyelashes. I also shaded the surroundings of the eye.

Step 3
I drew the second eye, shaded the black eyelid, the eyelashes, the eyebrow, and the surrounding area.

**Step 4
I drew the open mouth and the teeth were neatly drawn. I completed the nose, shaded the nostrils, the lips and the surrounding area.

Step 5
I sketched the lady's hair and how she beautifully packed it. I also sketched her ear and the hair that runs from her head to the shoulder on her right-hand side.

Step 6
Here, I drew her neck and her shoulder. I then shaded her ear and the hair on her head, making sure that all the hairs are neatly shaded.

*Step 7"
I shaded that long hair that runs from her head through the forehead and cheek down to the shoulder. I also shaded the one that passes through her ear and the ones on the other side of her cheek.

Step 8
I added shading to her face and blended it with a brush. I also shaded her neck and her shirt.

Conclusion
