How are you all? I hope you are well. By the grace of God, I am also well. Today I am participating in the Steemit Challenge Season 28 – Week 1, hosted by Madam @sualeha. The theme of this week's challenge is sketching and colouring on sketchbooks/paper.

Art calms people's minds, enhances creative thinking, and positively affects our mental health. I have not been getting such art contests for a long time, so I am really happy to participate in this art challenge. As per the host's instructions, I drew a beautiful mynah bird in the sketchbook.

The mynah bird that I drew has red lips, a black face, and wings in a mixture of yellow and black colours, which made my picture more alive and beautiful. I started my drawing with a light pencil sketch and completed it step by step using appropriate colours. In this post, I will share every step of my drawing, the materials used, and my experience. I hope you like it, and I look forward to seeing the work of all the participants in this contest. And I am sharing my artwork step by step.

Make a pencil drawing of any object on paper/sketchbook and then fill it with colour in an appropriate colour combination. For this you can use any of these (watercolour, pencil colour, crayon, marker) (6 marks).

Step -01

First you can see I have taken a watercolour pad. Then I have taken a watercolour pen. These two things are available in the market at a very low price, but not everyone can collect them because every good thing has to be found. It is very comfortable and beautiful to do art in these things.

Step -02

Then first I have drawn the beak, face, eyes, and some parts of the body of the bird with the help of a black pencil on white paper.

Step -03

Then you can see that I have drawn the part of the bird's wing here and the two legs of the bird together.

Step -04

Then you can see that I have drawn a dry branch of a tree very beautifully where the bird is sitting.

Step -05

Then I started the colouring step, and I really like these colours because the colours are so beautiful. And you can see that I painted the bird's beak red. Then I painted the face black, the back of the face red, and the back of the neck yellow and black.

Step -06

Then I painted the chest of the bird where there is a mixture of yellow and red. When I finished this entire colouring process step, the bird looked so beautiful to me; it looked like a living bird. I really liked these watercolours.

Step -07

Then I painted the tree branch, which is a dry branch, brown. And I painted the bird's legs with light black because we know that the colour of the bird's legs is always mostly black.

Step -08

Then, as per the host's guidelines, I took a selfie with my photo and proved the authenticity of the work, but I didn't remember to take the photo with the time and date.

I really enjoyed doing this painting. I had to pay attention to maintaining the harmony of the colours, especially the shades of yellow and black. The whole process was quite peaceful and enjoyable.

3: Painting 🖌️ 🎨 Did you have any difficulty finding the tools for the job?? (1-mark)

No, the brushes, pencils, and colours I used were easily available. There was no difficulty in collecting the tools.
