I am @gondalbiya from Pakistan !

I’m really excited to join this week’s drawing contest! First, I want to warmly thank our host, @m-fdo, for putting together such a creative and inspiring challenge. I also want to send my greetings to the entire community.It’s always wonderful to see so much talent and creativity being shared here.

Today, I’m sharing how I drew a water bottle. Drawing transparent objects can be tricky, but it’s an excellent way to practice capturing light, shadows, and reflections. Here’s a step-by-step look at how I brought this drawing to life:

Step 1

Sketch a vertical rectangle for the body, add a smaller rectangle for the neck and a line for the cap. Round the edges, give the sides thickness, shade one side lightly, and add a highlight on the opposite side. Clean up stray lines.

Step 2

Next, leave a space between both sides of the border, then draw two elongated vertical lines. Below these, add a platform or strip designed to catch the water bottle.

Step 3

Apply a light gray shade to the bottle for the base color. Darken the side thickness lines with deep gray/black for shading, leaving a small white highlight spot for shine. Color the cap medium gray and add a soft shadow under the bottle for depth.

My Final Picture

To shade the bottle, pick where the light hits it, then add a light gray base with pencil, keeping a small spot white for the highlight. Use a darker pencil on the thick edges and inside lines for depth. Blend the shading smoothly to make it look like glass. Add a soft shadow under the bottle for realism. Finally, erase a bit to make the highlight sparkle.
