Today, I will be drawing a chair

What is needed for today's drawing

To draw a chair, I will need the materials listed below for both sketching, and colouring.

Drawing Procedure

Step 1 [Preparing the Canvas]

I got an A4 plain paper ready along with a mathematical set. I signed it with today's date being 30 June 2026 under my username. My drawing orientation is landscape.

Step 2 [Sketching and Structure]

To guide me through the process, I started by sketching the chair. Shetches have two main functions: guidance and scaling.

Adding more flesh to the sketch such that it extends into a third dimension with height, depth and width.

Now I am adding the foam to the chair. The foam makes sitting on this chair more comfortable. The backrest is also lined with foam for maximum comfort.

The legs of the chair need support to make it strong so I am adding side stretchers and front stretchers

The left and front stretchers were easy to draw in but the right stretcher did not come out right after many tries. Getting the angle right was difficult.

The chair is now ready for shading and colouring.

Step 3 [Shading and colouring]

My colours are out and ready for the colouring stage.

I started the colouring with the brown colour.
This covered all the wooden parts of the chair.

It was closely followed by a shade of blue. The blue covered the material covering the foam.

Step 4 [Finishing]

Now the chair is ready.
